16th June 2004 - Legion Gold Patch
The Legion 1.06c patch was created after the release of Legion Gold. It has been brought to our attention that the 1.06c patch for Legion is not compatible with Legion Gold so we have created a 1.06c patch especially for Legion Gold. For details of the fixes included see the Legion 1.06c patch below.

20th May 2004 - Legion Patch
European gamers do not need the patches, they come pre-installed.
Changes Included in the Legion V1.0.6c patch
Download V1.0.6c US from Strategy First (Requires v1.0.6b to be installed first) (318 K)
- A problem with copy protection that prevented some machines from detecting the Legion CD has been fixed.
- A bug where battles sometimes did not end when cavalry were involved has been fixed.
Changes Included in the Legion V1.0.6b patch
The saved game format is different so old saved games will not work with the patch. We tried to keep it consistent, but found we were prevented from making some of the changes listed below and thought it more important to make the changes than to keep saved games compatible.

- A warning message has been added to let you know when your storage space is low
- A warning message has been added to let you know when your diplomatic relations with a nation have significantly decreased.

Changes
- Upgrade SFX changed to be the same as a unit response

- You can now allocate 2 workers to temples & shrines to act as priests, who assist in healing, decreasing the death rate and increasing the population growth rate

- You can allocate workers to the hospital as doctors which decrease the death rate, increasing population growth.
Bugs

- Animation speed of units on the campaign map has been capped so fast machines do not animate too quickly.
- A bug to do with some corruption on the display of available storage space has been fixed.
- A bug to do with upgrading squads has been fixed. Larger squads used to get cheaper to maintain, now they are more expensive.
- There was a sound glitch with unit speech when you attacked an enemy army or city which has been fixed.
- Diplomacy tweaks with peace offers - cant exploit AI by declaring lots of wars then collect tributes
- AI plays mid-end game and develops its cities much better.
- The AI will now recruit more troops when it gets larger.
- Pressing the Alt key no longer pauses the game.
Advanced Options
The battle speed can be tweaked from the user.txt file by adding a line "BattleSpeed #" to the user.txt file in your data directory, where # is a number between 1 and 255. The default value is 40, higher values will slow the battles down and lower values will speed up the battles. The lower the value the faster the battles will run, up to the point where your PC is running flat out, but this will be different for every PC.

FIXES in V1.14
* Trade *
Bug fix: Trade prices were only being updated when the player entered the
Trade Screen.
FIXES in V1.13
* City UI *
There was a bug that allowed you to double click on an item in the build list and purchase it even if you did not have the resources to buy it.
FEATURES in V1.12
* Trade *
Holding SHIFT or CTRL allow for 100x value changes. So the Left Mouse Button plus SHIFT or CONTROL will change the value by 100, and the Right Mouse Button plus SHIFT or CONTROL will change the value by 1000.
Also, the repeat trade button will remain in the state that it is set, rather than resetting to the 'repeating' state at the end of each turn.
* Constructing Buildings *
It is now possible to construct buildings by clicking the entry in the city building list if the building is already selected. Building can also be cancelled in this manner.
* Free Workers *
Cities on the main campaign screen now show blue when they have any idle workers, rather than only on the turn when their population increases. Cities with free workers also show blue on the empire overview screen.
* Next City *
Holding down SHIFT while using both the campaign map 'Next City' button, or the Next and Previous City buttons on the city view will switch to the next city which is available to start a new building.
* Next Army *
Holding down SHIFT while using the Next or Previous Army buttons on the campaign map will move to the next army which is able to move this turn.
* Advance *
By default the Advance button will move the currently selected army, and then switch the selection to the next army which is able to move. Holding SHIFT keeps the selection on the current army. Armies which finish a move by merging, attacking, or taking a city will remain as the current selection.
* Auto Allocation of Workers *
When a new building or upgrade is completed, and there is a worker available, they will be automatically allocated to the new slot.
* Optional Automatic Message Display *
This defaults to on. This will automatically pop up the message window at the start of a turn when a new message arrives. You may disable it. To do this you need to add the following line to the user.txt file which can be found in the data directory:
AUTOMESSAGES 0
* Customisable Autosave *
It is possible to set the autosave frequency. This is done by adding the following line to the user.txt file which can be found in the data directory:
AUTOSAVEFREQ <frequency>
Where <frequency> is any positive value. A <frequency> value of 1 will autosave every turn, 2 every other turn, and so on. E.g.
AUTOSAVEFREQ 2 - means the game is autosaved every 2 turn.
* AI Target Determination Fix *
Alters the AI target selection criteria, making the AI less likely to attack with a smaller force. Defaults to on, but can be deactivated by adding the following line to the user.txt file which can be found in the data directory:
AIPATCH1 0
FIXES in V1.12
* Lost Messages *
Messages could be lost if large numbers were arriving each turn. This has now been fixed.
* Battle Finish Hang *
On rare occasions it was possible that a battle would fail to end after victory by one side.
* Squad Movement Bug *
Squads could fail to engage under certain circumstances, leading to battles potentially failing to end.
