Re: Spanish Civil War Mod & Campaign (v0.45)

Now seriously, I am not against a political discussion about the spanish civil war (although i feel a bit uneasy using english to discuss this topic) but I am more interested in creating a mod which can be used as a starting point for people who know little about the conflict to begin to learn abou...

Re: Spanish Civil War Mod & Campaign (v0.45)

I'm sure terminator can speak for himself, but I don't think he was saying anything different from you, kondi. The mod description i used (edited from the wiki entry, i think) was "description = (v0.70) The Spanish Civil War (1936-1939) was a civil conflict fought between Republicans, loyal to the ...

Re: Spanish Civil War Mod & Campaign (v0.45)

 Another solution maybe more historical : During Spanish Civil War, the USSR supported Spanish Repulican forces with "volunteers" and tanks , including 50 BT-5 ones. They saw extensive action since late 1937 and some of them became Nationalst trophies with colorfull bands on the turret to av...

Great discussion of tactical bombers and ground attack aircraft, but you are missing a famous one  .
I bet you think about Il-2 Sturmovik :) or something else?

Re: The US forces M4A1 Sherman A is pathetic ???

A total 4% accuracy across all eight rockets. 83 tanks destroyed is pretty small, when each aircraft has 8 rockets. While yes, it can be alleviated somewhat, it still is not good. In one engagement, 250 tanks were claimed by the 2nd Tactical Airforce. Typhoons claimed 220 of these. Research teams s...

Re: The US forces M4A1 Sherman A is pathetic ???

What strategic bomber I proposed for tac bomber? All bombers I proposed are tactical bombers (or medium - two engines) in fact, which Devs named faultyly as Strategic  and I wrote that these planes (such as eg. Mitchell or Marauder or Wellington) should differ with "light" tac bomber (like Stuk...

Re: The US forces M4A1 Sherman A is pathetic ???

I’d argue they lost because they were encountering fighters, when they had few escorts, but my knowledge is mainly focused on the Pacific Theatre. No, they had a proper escort, often twice or even three times more Bf 109 than the amount of Ju 87, but this didn't protect them from huge losses Apart ...

Re: The US forces M4A1 Sherman A is pathetic ???

Ok, to be honest Stuka was very solid aircraft but outdated even in 1939-40 It was very solid project so this plane was valuable against weak opponent (Poland, Norway, Belgium, Nederlands, Yugoslavia, Greece) or France, not adapted to conduct a modern war in 1940 Ju 87 was good also at the Eastern F...

Yeah I'm moving around the tank with sandbags on it typically a yank thing to do improvise etc. so I am whining about realism .... and the plane issue that actually is accurate the Jerries had a great ground attack plane in the Stuka AND had great doctrine to use it. tank us.png You talk about earl...

Re: The US forces M4A1 Sherman A is pathetic ???

Shermans are pretty good in OoB, I suppose it was caused by jungle or other hard terrain plus Enhanced Armor maybe Tac bombers in OoB - this is a topic :!: I think this situation will be changed by Devs with future western Allies campaign There is a result of the first US and British campaigns locat...

Re: Panzer Corps 2 - $69.95 at launch

I wonder what will the price of the standard version be? (whithout wallpapers and soundtracks) I suppose if you are a thrifty person and you try to manage your resources wisely, or do you have many other passions, which also require some investment, then you choose the economic version, not the luxu...

Re: Erik's campaigns

In Kokoda Trail, in the third scenario, called "Isuvura," even if I complete all the primary objectives, I keep getting a minor victory. Is there some sort of trigger issue? Playing on the medium diffciulty setting. Added to my new Kokoda list. Thanks for reporting I suppose you mean "Isurava" not ...

Re: Gaz 4M is bugged (and also awesome)

Fair enough. From what I can tell, though, 150,000 GAZ trucks were in service with the Red Army by 1941 GAZ-AA (produced 1 000 000 vehicles in 1932-1950 period) and GAZ-AAA (produced 37 000 trucks in 1934-1943) GAZ-AAA was a platform for MGs and other armament, because GAZ-AA was old, rather weak v...

...Those trucks were probably quite numerous, probably 50 or more in a battalion. 200 Maxim MGs... No, there were max 12-16 at division level I suppose, and were used only for AA purposes You should remember only US and significant part of British armies were fully motorized in 30s and 40s. Re: Panzer Corps 2 to be released on March 19th

Uh, sorry but the new trailer makes me cringe! All those tanks from various nations mixed up and firing at each other's sides is just too much... I get it that a trailer has to have some level of excitement and action, which necessitates some artistic touches, but it should also have a basic level ...

My point is that pak 38 weren't used is the significant numbers before '42. Not to mention Yugoslavia or Greece.
