Re: CP adjustments - SPAT edition

If my opinion has any meaning in this discussion, it doesn't bother me in general, I am in favor of such a change
Additionally, I think that some of them should permanently get "unreliable" trait - for example Jagdtiger

Re: BrucErik CSD Studio

Erik and I have agreed to collaborate in the creation of some scenarios that he has in mind. Basically, he will provide the design and I will provide the structure. Or, to use a couple of prosaic metaphors, he will be the architect and I, the mason. I insisted that he retain authorship and by-line....

Re: Slow in here, when and whats next?

It´s been a bit slow in here lately and for the first time I´ve also personally stopped playing on a regular basis (dabling in the new Fantasy General II instead). Any news, gossip, reasonable expectations regarding when we could expect the next DLC and what it might be about? I'm curious if Fantas...

Re: OoB Western Allies GC sketch

I would sure hope they do 2 separate; one US and one UK, maybe with third country subdivision, and not one combined or one that splits up in two. This would make for more content, diversity and core navy. I´m also a fan of a longer Italian campaign, and off course more pacific content. This is very...

Re: OoB Western Allies GC sketch

This is a fascinating read so far. Kondi, is this going to be more similar to a Wiki-style development effort, or will you absorb, coordinate, and decide? I think you would be an excellent arbiter and would steer it toward steely realism. Just curious -- this could be an effort that might reshape t...

Re: OoB Western Allies GC sketch

OMF, title of first part is Darkest Hour, which refers to English proverb (the darkest hour is just before the dawn) and famous movie about Churchill (with Gary Oldman), so first part is about British and Commonwealth forces , so French, Norwegian, Greece, Poles etc. will be here only as a backgroun...

Re: OoB Western Allies GC sketch

When I mentioned about Arras scn I mean about area where Arras is only one of the important points, don't follow the names of some maps, because I think about it in a simplified way and they relate to a much larger operational area - I was thinking rather about attempts to split German troops in the...

Re: OoB Western Allies GC sketch

The fighting around Narvik is probably the most interesting as the Allies actually beat Dietl's Gebirgsjäger troops, until some incident in France and the Low Countries caused the Allies to shift focus and left the Norwegian to themselves. Done. To consider: Option 2nd in connection with the remova...

Re: OoB Western Allies GC sketch

Now you see why we need you here, Kondi? Thanks Bru It'd replace the Taranto raid, which is wildly uninteresting from a tactical/operational picture (naval air attack against stationary naval defenders). Historical timing and accuracy have never been big issues for this franchise. Hmm, maybe...

Re: OoB Western Allies GC sketch

I would add the ill-fated Norwegian campaign to the Darkest Hour. This could be a nice combination of air-land-naval battles involving British, Norwegian, French Polish and German forces. Regards from the Norwegian Thanks Erik I thought about it, but I'm not sure when to place it, because the event...

Re: OoB Western Allies GC sketch

Wow, Kondi i love your sketch, first of all “scn 11(bonus)_Gothic line east/Ancona-Rimini[BR] or Gothic line west/Florence-Pisa[US] scn 12(bonus)_Battle for Bologna/Spring 1945 offensive in Italy[BR/US]” I never see Gothic line scenarios, because All designers concentrate on France theatre, and I w...

OoB Western Allies GC sketch

Bearing in mind that Devs are currently focused on Soviet GC, I decided to make a sketch of the future Western Allies GC. Maybe Artistocrats will use it in the future (at least some of my ideas  ) but certainly they will not be able to say now that the works are so far advanced that everything ...

Re: US commander

Actually, Erik, are you thinking of this fellow, with the "USMC" on his shirt? I don't see any any such obvious designation on the uniform of Pfc. "Wild-eyes" in his avatar that tags him as a Marine. The other guys, some of them do have jungle camouflaged helmets. The real trouble here is that with...

Yes, I posted this photo earlier (or maybe I was going to post and forgot about it :))
This photo was taken during Dragoon operation, French riviera (St.Tropez if I remember correctly), August 1944

Re: What if next dlc will be other trilogy...

All of which would make far more sense as interesting changes of pace in a UK-US-FRA-POL grand campaign. BTW I will be very disappointed if there isn't a major mention made of the Poles in the next two SOV DLCs and ideally the use of the Poles as the Soviet sub faction akin to the Italians for the ...

Re: What if next dlc will be other trilogy...

I also think that Devs will most likely end Soviet GC first However, I wonder if, due to some modifications in the number of campaigns (e.g. there seemed to be only one campaign on the Eastern Front earlier), what will this decision have on the further development of OoB? It seems rather certain tha...

Re: Red Star, my favourite so far, Why and a question..

Only played during the tests at the highest level.
I bought / upgraded 2x T-34 only before Smolensk scn and having 2 T-34 and 1 KV (unreliable) I transferred them to endangered sections of the front all the time :)
I also think Red Star is a very good piece of the game

Re: [Re-]Crossing the Rubicon on "Unreliable"

2. Bru, spotted that you changed early StuGs (with short barrel) from "tank" to "anti-tank" class. Of course, it's your decision, but in my humble opinion Devs were right that they assigned them to "tanks" (in the sense that they served as infantry support in the fight against enemy infantry, MGs a...

Re: [Re-]Crossing the Rubicon on "Unreliable"

1. I think that it was really good idea to introduce levels of unreliability but like CoolDTA wrote earlier "don't think we'll see it" I had the same idea that CoolDTA to introduce levels of reliability (but this subject had become for me too passionate to want to get involved). I was thinking of t...
