Narva v. 1.0 Two orphans here (no AI team): Screenshot 2.jpg As far as objectives go, this one is cut-and-dried. All objectives to be evaluated at scenario-end: Screenshot 1.jpg The only difficulty is that these two are set for Turn = 1 instead of Scenario Turn Limit: Screenshot 4.jpg Screenshot 5.j...

Re: CSI Sweep: Germany East 1944

Korsun Breakout v. 1.0 There are no primary VP hexes linked to the objective. By careful scanning, I counted 9 of them which makes the 3/7 split of German and Soviet objectives okay. The first briefing mentions these places but they are not marked on the map: Screenshot 1.jpg The second briefing men...

Re: CSI Sweep: Germany East 1944

I am sure that you used at least a few of these in your scenarios. Sure enough, there are a bunch in the first scenario. It's circumstances like these that make me uneasy: Screenshot 2.jpg The point is, these units and the new specialisations have not been really released yet. The assumption that w...

Re: CBS Reports (1964): "D-Day Plus 20 Years"

Good thoughts, koopanique. I believe we can assume that although Eisenhower was casual and smiling 20 years later, that he never stopped feeling the weight of those responsibilities and decisions which unfortunately led to the deaths of many fine young men. Only keeping in mind that his leadership w...

Re: CSI Sweep: Germany East 1944

By the way, a bit of experimentation led me to discover another reason for my strat map failure in 7.1.4; sometime in 7.1.6 or 7.1.8 they added 17 new Soviet units, as follows: Soviet_Guards_41 Soviet_Guards_42 Soviet_Guards_43 Soviet_Guards_44 Soviet_Guards_45 Komintern_Tractor KV-1_m1940 Matilda_M...

Re: Erik's campaigns

I wonder if the naval capture task may be blamed. If the first transport captures the location, the AI maybe does not quite know what to to with the rest of the transports since the task is fulfilled? I think such tasks apply to all units in the team, don't you? As evidenced by, in the end, "the ot...

Korsun Pocket v. 1.0 (continued) Here's the recommendation about the Ju52 supply mission. I played it out and notice that, with the fifth and final plane, I was cutting it close time-wise: Screenshot 8.jpg Which is fine; the mission needs to be challenging. The only thing that bothered me, though, i...

Re: CSI Sweep: Germany East 1944

Korsun Pocket v. 1.0 If you look carefully, there are 9 victory points on the map: Screenshot 1.jpg Keep that in mind while we deal with this. Whenever you say "at scenario end," there is always the decision: Do you mean all the way to the end (the full amount of turns) or do you mean whenever the s...

Re: CSI Sweep: Germany East 1944

I do have another alternative in mind, however. And it's a good thing that I do. Brother, if you can explain to me the true nature of computers and programming, please do. Meanwhile, I have moved to Plan B. Plan B says, since OOB version 7.1.8 is terrible on Bruce's personal computer regarding the ...

Re: Erik's campaigns

I should let Erik answer but I want to maximize his time and energy on his future great works! Heh. Well, let's see if he agrees with this answer. I would imagine that, even with transports, an aggression factor of 50 could cause the AI to hang back somewhat, waiting for "the coast to clear."...

Re: Lazy units? Why part of AI team(s) sits it out?

I have the same problem - mostly some artillery units stay back and dont drive forward ! That could be more of that AI "discretionary thinking" at work. Ordinarily, artillery units will not advance until forward areas are well-secured. Another thought, by the way: Instead of lumping various types o...

Re: Lazy units? Why part of AI team(s) sits it out?

What should I check? I apologize for the obvious but the first thing to check is whether those units are actually part of the AI team in question. Press the "j" key and it will show you what team they are assigned and if you see "-" (or a blank if you have something more than 20 teams or so, in whi...

Re: CSI Sweep: Germany East 1944

I found the reason why I cannot start or edit this campaign in 7.1.4; it's because you included these new, and to me unproven, specialisations: Image0101.jpg Since these were introduced in either 7.1.6 or 7.1.8, and I don't have them in 7.1.4, I cannot proceed unless I am updated to 7.1.8. As I ment...

Re: Current Bugs - Version 7.1.8

Is the OoB Bug Database still active ? I have the impression that they took the bug database "private" in favor of the " The new bug submission process " with Adam or somebody triaging the issues posted there and updating the database themselves. It probably got a bit unwieldy with a bunch of peopl...

Re: CSI Sweep: Germany East 1944

Quick reply re the duplicate scenarios. This is from the original PzC campaign and I think it was done because the next scenario in each brand might be different. So not possible to use a single scenario for both branches. Anyway, the duplicates are identical so you need only check one. That's good...

Re: CSI Sweep: Germany East 1944

Interesting! I learn something new every day about OOB, or so it seems. Apparently, I have to be on the same version of OOB as you, at least right now, in order to do this sweep. You may recall my talking in the Current Bugs thread about a "hybrid" approach that I was using, staying on 7.1.4 but cop...

CSI Sweep: Germany East 1944

By invitation from Erik. Version 1.0. Here is the Campaign Tree in spreadsheet format which I feel compelled to lay out whenever the progression is not strictly linear: Image0098.jpg I have not gotten into the individual scenarios yet but it seems there are two variations for each of Poltava (a bonu...

Re: Current Bugs - Version 7.1.8

I hate to keep pushing this because it should not be necessary, it is not the right thing to have to do (although it does work - at least for me), and I am not official by any means. But in lieu of an official response as to when this might be corrected, I reiterate this suggestion: http://www.slith...

Re: Commander Bonus Variables (7.1.8)

Thanks again, Horst. I doubt, JB72, that although your suggestion has merit, it would ever see the light of day in OOB. It would mean a ton of reprogramming and there is not much apparent activity on the part of the developers these days. Any time and effort they may be expending is in the console v...
