Bitter End versus Bulge scenarios

From my perspective, the Bitter End scenario is the best to play online. Bulge is better to play versus AI. For PBEM, Bitter End offers more choices to both sides. In Bulge, especially in tournaments the Allied player needs to really defend pretty far forward or the Axis will gain enough points to w...

Re: Suggestion Changes for Next Version of B0fB

The Avalon Hill Battle of the Bulge is one of my all time favorites. I wore out the counters playing it. If that game and order of battle was paired with AI record keeping abilities, it could be awesome. I have sometimes wondered why many of the great old board games have not been purchased and cove...

Suggestion Changes for Next Version of B0fB

Battle of the Bulge is a favorite of mine and after many many hours of play and many PBEM games here are suggestions for a future version or even an expansion pack. I would pay for these improvements as an advanced game or expansion. 1. Bridges always available to the side that controls the space, e...

Re: Hit calculator

I am still suspicious, myself. I understand attacks going badly as they did in real life even if it is an entire Panzer Corps. However, not every attack sustained over multiple combats with an RNG. I still see it although it looks a bit better. I also wonder if it is still possible to hack the syste...

Hit calculator

Is there some secret to the hit calculator and RNG to know? I just finished a tournament game and the hit rate for Allied for the last five days was around 20% even with air power and using elite armor. I documented two German games with a hit rate of of 27% which is virtually all armor attacks. I d...

Re: Join the Summerslaughter Tournament for Battle of the Bu

I will also add in my experience from the last two tournaments, games will lock up, time out and then award more points to the trailing/losing side. I have had it happen vs. Huragan in the second round of the prior tournament and seems to be happening now in my Axis game vs. Scott1957. Rather disapp...

Re: Join the Summerslaughter Tournament for Battle of the Bu

Agreed w Scott1957. The other game gave me a pass move when I logged in and has closed out the game. Looking at everyone's scores they seem rather extreme and unusual.

Re: Tournament score clarification

I had a similar problem. My opponent timed out in the second round and it gave me the victory but only 3 points. The loser scored 17 and got to play for first place.

Re: The Battle of the Bulge Spring Clash Tournament has begu

Hi! Sorry that those have been left hanging on your list, we'll get them removed asap. From looking at the scores, they seem about right as jotajotajota was obviously active even if timezones stopped you completing the games. Thanks! Thanks for clearing and clarifying. I look forward to the next to...

Re: The Battle of the Bulge Spring Clash Tournament has begu

I have two tournament games versus jotajotajota that are stuck on my list of ongoing games. I cannot get rid of them. The games timed out because he stopped moving after the first day. Both games declared me the winner but gave him more points where he was German. He had taken Bastogne but was not y...

Re: The Battle of the Bulge Spring Clash Tournament has begu

I want to know how the RNG works for combat results. I am looking at entire games with three standard deviation results consistently, not just a single combat or single day. I like this game but it often tends to get a lot of extreme results and I am seeing things I have never seen with hundreds of ...

Huragan and I have four games going, as well. I rather like it but wonder how the scoring will go. Will be worth double points?

Re: The Battle of the Bulge Spring Clash Tournament has begu

My opponent simply quit moving and ended up with more points where he was German and losing where he was Allied. The game showed plenty of time left but he did not move for roughly 24hrs. Not sure if he quit, forfeited or somehow timed out. Anyway, I was in a good position in both games and wonder i...
