Re: Larger armies right across the FOG2 Digital League?

More list points mitigates the likelihood of enjoyment. I just want to say that people enjoy the Digital League but the slight majority who want all games to be 1600 points are likely to get their wish in the end. But, they are going to have less players to play. There is nothing wrong I think with ...

Re: Two Questions

I haven't played that battle. If you want to challenge me then send me a pm. I can play as the Germans perhaps.

Generals give your units a boost. I haven't moved them around much in a battle until recently. They can change the course of a battle if used wisely!

Re: I've lost 11 games.

Yes, just look at the armies and if not happy no big deal - just set your own battle up. For one person unappealing and for another a challenge....

Re: I've lost 11 games.

So what’s a specific example of a “trap games”?? Trap games are when strong armies like the Romans face off against warbands. There are trap scenarios, too. Try to win at Bibracte with the Gauls.. sometimes you may want the challenge! What?? That’s usually a good fight. I meant what specific lists ...

Re: [Suggestion] Better Campaigns

I agree with Athos, this is mainly a tactical wargame with the focus being on the battlefield itself. The campaigns are a bit of fun for some and then you can use Empires for the full strategic overlay. In my mind, this game has always been about multiplayer. There are a number of people who do just...

Re: The Rally Point (discussion, questions and some highbrow philosophising)

I understand how people become frustrated with the RNG (and other macro/micro game mechanics). I have played in over 600 games now since FOGII came out and there are indeed maybe 4-6 games I vividly recall where extreme outlier results won me/cost me the game...or so I believe....I remind myself th...

Re: Larger armies right across the FOG2 Digital League?

I might be more in favour of leaving Classical at medium, putting Late Antiquity at large, and Biblical at medium and see how that goes. I think from an organiser's point of view it is not a great idea to keep changing around the points every season, though. I also think people tend to forget the am...

Re: Classical Antiquity: winners post your results here . . .

Division D SLancaster (Lysimachid 320-281 BC with Seleucid 302-301 BC allies) defeated Najanaja (Roman 199-106 BC with Greek 227-146 BC allies) 71-55 . This was my last match of the season and it really went all the way. Najanaja thought his army would crumble in the middle but he hung on till the ...

Re: Larger armies right across the FOG2 Digital League?

I don’t like mirror matches. I prefer to play nine games against different opponents.

In a knockout tournament it might be different. Even then, I probably prefer just one game rather than two against every opponent.

Re: Multiplayer mechanics?

Honestly, it will all make sense once you start playing. If the turn hasn’t been taken by your enemy you can click on the turn in the opponent’s turn column.

Re: Multiplayer mechanics?

Yes, you see them messing around with their units on the replay.

No, you can only access the game when it is your turn (other than to see your old moves from previous turn).

See you on the battlefield soon, K!

Re: rs2excelsior's Lessons Learned & Tactical Musings

A very nice battle to watch. One of the best of recent times on Richard's channel. You gave him a proper fight and well done! I thought that you moved your units around him on your left too far. They were mostly wasted in the end. You could have used those units in the centre or as reserve against h...

Re: List of units in army lists?

Also, with certain allies you lose out on a few units. Perhaps you get three lancers ordinarily but if with a certain ally you only get two including the ally list. I think this is true..

Good job. Does it work fully with allies? I see you have them but the core list changes as well depending on the allies.

Re: Routing Mechanics

1. Well, the men would be seeing the action on the battlefield and sometimes it may be getting worse. I think in Napoleon Total War (as one example) a unit rallying from routing does undergo a cohesion check and sometimes it doesn’t return. 2. All units turn white for both sides. I am talking about ...

Routing Mechanics

A few thoughts and ideas... 1. I wonder if troops that rally from routing should get a cohesion test of some kind every turn or whenever. 2. Perhaps the routed troops could be clearer as in the heat of the battle sometimes I forget which are the enemy troops and which to pursue or not especially if ...
