Ain't that the truth. My 3 yo pc just died in July. Luckily the cord escaped unharmed.

Re: Cursor way off
[quote="zakblood_slith"]as it's an onboard GPU / CPU you may need to display the tools for it, If it's that complicated I guess I might as well by a new monitor. 7 years is a venerable age for one and it's bound to die any given day anyway. The technical reasoning behind the purchase maybe...

Re: Cursor way off
Hi guys! It's an ancient - my wife says 7 years or so - Samsung Syncmaster 913N, 20". No other monitors. Not much of a setup, really. that's what i thought also in my first post on it, seems it's a pixel or so out which alter the cursor  Is there a fix to it? This thing drives me crazy. Ch...

Note that my PS and FOG2 editors seem to work perfectly. Forgot to mention that.

Cursor way off
cursor.jpg Hi all! The cursor in the editor has developed an oddity I need to get rid of. The cursor is so way off that some tasks, notably deleting objects, is virtually impossible without destroying the whole neighborhood in the process. In the pic, the gate is being dragged along by the cursor w...

Re: always evade
Well, let´s say "minimize hand-to-hand" and "maximize missile action" then. Why? I feel it would improve the way light chariots fight in the game. I'm sure it occasionally came to blows if the chariot got stuck or was ambushed etc. but the best modern military historians do argue...

What's the next best thing? What orders should I give to LH(F), say, Magyars and Parthians and the like?

always evade
Hi all!
Is it possible to order troops (or mod data files) to "always evade"? = never charge, avoid close combat if possible, just use your bows. FOG1 had that option, I think(?)

Re: Squad file data
I am afraid that if you want units to start the battle disrupted, you will need to dip your toe in the water of scripting. I am happy to show you how to do it for your scenario. Well, in the very beginning of the scenario, a division of 5000 Egyptians (mostly average infantry but also 500 superior ...

MoraleState - morale state of the unit - 0 = steady, 1 = disrupted, 2 = fragmented, 3 = routed, 5 = destroyed
Gentlemen,
Why are these archers STEADY, not DISTRUPTED?

Re: Scenario creation guide part 4 (AI Teams and Orders)
Which suggests that maybe you set Target Point 0 and not Target Point 1. Have you in fact set Target Point 1? It was 0.. So problem solved, thanks. As for the super troops, I think I know what happened. Their light spears confiscated, the psiloi started to refuse close combat which is the right thi...

Re: Scenario creation guide part 4 (AI Teams and Orders)
I am not sure what you mean by "clear" orders. Go to target point 1 and kill. The aggression code you have given them is 10 = 8 + 2. I thought I gave them 16=search and destroy. So if their route to their objective goes through the enemy they will charge the It doesn't. They could easily ...

Re: Scenario creation guide part 4 (AI Teams and Orders)
Screen_00000000.jpg Hi guys! Having a thick day again but can't get AI to follow orders. What I want the chariots to do is to chase the archers away and gallop to their target point way up north. Instead, they charge the archers and get destroyed. Not a single chariot cares about clear orders. What...

Re: self bow
Hi Richard! The new archers are every bit as useless as I wanted, thanks. They did occasionally fight back though - presumably with their spears - if charged. Can I remove them? I'd prefer archers to use their bows and slings or alternatively just run. The theory is (John Keegan, Robert Drews et al....

Re: self bow
Yes, that would probably work. Will try and let you know. Many missile units were arguably something like that anyway especially in Syria/Palestine where the humble sling is a popular weapon even today. Would lowering "experience" effect shooting negatively? ¨Unit capabilities" lists ...
