Air Unit Upgrade Fuel Glitch
I noticed an upgrade glitch playing Morning Sun on version 8.1.0 non-Steam. I haven't made any other tests, so I'll say it appears when an air unit is placed on the map during the deployment phase, then upgraded, it retains the fuel stat of the older model. The left pane of the attached composite sh...

Re: Order of Battle: World War II - v7.1.6 Update
Careful- as advertised, this is an updater, not an installer. To get a clean install, I used Windows' Control Panel to uninstall my previous OOB installation (x86 and x64 entries). There were some file system bits & pieces to delete or rename by hand. OOB still remembered my DLCs and serial numbers,...

Re: Scrambling Scrambled
OoB 7.1.4 with Scrambling Specialization : Why are you playing with an obsolete version  :?: Thank you terminator for confirming this bug is present in the current 7.1.4 release. I'd like to see it addressed by simply removing the words "Land-based" from specializations.csv. I've watched the...

Scrambling Scrambled
The text of the Scrambling Specialization itemizes "Land-based fighter aircraft", but the game effect includes carrier based aircraft (Version 6.19 x64 non-Steam). Could anyone confirm this is also the state of play for Version 7.14? The contradiction should be reconciled- I favor including carrier ...

Re: Mistakes vere made, mein Fuhrer - Endsieg Review and Discuss
I prefer strategy games on a smaller scale like " Close Combat Series " with different types of units, each with different characteristics. Note that in this game (Close Combat) there is also a strategic map : Pardon the off topic question, but is that CC Strategic Map from a mod? With two units on...

Re: Placing of AT guns.
Buildings are my favorite site for AT guns (e.g. British 6 pounder, SU 45mm & 76mm), but you've pointed out not all guns are allowed in buildings. I suppose that has something to do with their size or ease of breakdown / reassembly, but campaign / revision may also be a factor. For the guns that won...

Re: A Noob vs Japan
It already is. I have so many images because I show what has changed after every turn. The only way to cut it down would be to show what has happened after every other turn, or every third turn, which I am aware most people do. Right. I should have written perhaps 1 scenario per topic. That would s...

I also enjoy reading your AARs- thank you TFC.
With WiFi on the last link to my PC, I frequently have difficulty downloading the enormous post. If others report a similar issue, it might be nice to break down future AARs. Perhaps 1 scenario per post?

Re: Burma Road campaign issues
I hope the Brits will get more love in the upcoming North African campaign that also benefits the Burma campaign. What’s also strange that thinly armoured Japanese light tanks require 5 supply but all somewhat better armoured and armed British Crusader and Valentine tanks require only 4 supply. The...

Re: Current Bugs - Version 6.1.9
[The imported core bug that allows over deploying imported units and driving CPs negative is still present in Ver 6.1.9 non-Steam. http://www.slitherine.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=372&t=81131&p=693417&hilit=import+core#p693417 This shows a Morning Sun core imported into Rising Sun. Re: Collated issue reports (Japanese campaign / game rules)
I bought the game during the recent Steam sale and have been playing through the Japanese campaign. I have run into a number of minor, game-rules or scenario-scripting-related issues, which I will collate, as I encounter them, in this thread. For any issues of a more technical nature where my syste...

Re: Kriegsmarine Operation Torch, No Carrier Now
When a player enters the Specialization screen, the game calendar reflects the date of the previous mission, not the next mission. Some items can no longer be selected- even though their availability date in the specializations.csv file makes them available for the "next" mission. Kriegsmarine playe...

Re: Kriegsmarine Operation Torch, No Carrier Now
The reason: the dates between missions doesn't increment right. It's still the date of the last mission (8/1941, "Western Approaches") instead of the new one (11/1942, "Op. Torch")! My guess: this may have something to do with the new campaign editor (?). And this behaviour doesn't apply to Kriegsm...

Re: OOB Burma Imphal campaign
Just for another data point, I encountered an AI freeze on Turn 3 of the Imphal scenario in a Burma Road campaign with v5.2.9 x64 on Win7. I knew it was a big scenario so I rebooted before launching OOB. The scenario loaded quickly, and the first two turns processed smartly. By turn 3, the AI's flan...

Re: Unit Stats Panel
Red is your attack value against that unit type, Green is your defense value when attacked by that unit type. Helmet = infantry, Wheel = mech. Notice there are no Red values for artillery versus air or naval. Arty can't target them. There are Green values for artillery because from time to time arti...

Re: Why do the combat results in this game suck so much?
When Stan says: About 50% it's 0. About 40% it's -1. About 10% it's -2. I'm not seeing this. Folks have already commented on softening attacks to reduce efficiency. There's also the flanking support bonus, unit types (e.g. inf versus at/aa/arty), experience delta, and terrain advantages to boost hi...

Re: Bug: No units will activate
AFAIK OrderOfBattle-WorldWarII-Setup64Release-v5.2.1.zip is still the most recent base installer. If you've had OOB x32 on your system you should follow this (note registry edit tool): http://www.slitherine.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=264&t=80817 Here's an x64 new install (note December auto-update bu...

Re: Bug: No units will activate
That sounds very frustrating and is definitely not the way it should be. Experiencing that with US Marines rules out any notion of demo limitations. You can post a save game here, and someone else running it without issue will confirm the problem is local to your installation. Does output_log.txt sh...
