Re: FOG-R 2021
So the first casualty of the 2021 campaigning season has been announced! Just heard from Andy Walpole, Event Manager @ The South Wales Gaming Centre that Godendag 2021 is cancelled - no word on whether it is to be re-arranged to a later date, but as I have also received a refund of my entry fee, I a...

FOG-R 2021
Hi All What a year it has been, I only managed a couple of rounds of FOG-R all year and re-basing my old armies to FOG-R has not been an entirely satisfactory substitute for the comradeship of face-to-face game-play. Is it tempting providence to start thinking about FOG-R competition rounds (at OWS ...

Re: Oxford 1 Day Event - 11 October 2020
Hopefully, in 2021, we can start to look to a tentative list of OWS Sunday dates and consider restarting FOG-R competition rounds and not have to wait until the spring/summer due to outdoor only permissions!
Season's Greetings to all!

Re: FoGR tournament in Sutton in Ashfield - Sat Sep 5th 2020
Hi Trev I really enjoyed my trip to Polly Bowls earlier this year (one of the few outings all year!) and so would be good to do one again if you are prepared to organise! I have Godendag 2021 in the calendar for 16-17 Jan; and that is likely to be the only event I will manage to get to in Jan - assu...

Re: Oxford 1 Day Event - 11 October 2020
Hi Tom
Under the circumstances, I too am going to have to pass and withdraw my entry for the competition.
I realize you have tried very hard to keep all the options going, and that is much appreciated.
Hopefully we will have more favourable gaming conditions in the new year!
regards

Re: Oxford 1 Day Event - 11 October 2020
Hi Tom Do you have the guidance from Wolvecote? From my memory of the layout outside, I am not sure how this would work in keeping the 3 tables and 6 competitors undercover and socially distanced and still allow the use of the facilities (esp. as the weather is likely to exacerbate demand!) Re: Oxford 1 Day Event - 11 October 2020
I hope everyone is safe and well! Despite the recent good news about the Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine trials, things on the COVD front seem to continue to stymie our enjoyment of our hobby - fortunately I still have a lot of re-basing still to do, which at least means I am staying connected to the hob...

Re: Oxford 1 Day Event - 11 October 2020
It is a pain, but I guess necessary one, however, I am somewhat pessimistic that these sorts of interventions will necessarily roll over well into 2021 (as we weather "flu season" as well) and start impacting the bigger events like Godendag etc. On the point about email I agree it would be helpful t...

Re: Oxford 1 Day Event - 11 October 2020
A shame, but I think that as we head into the winter months it is only going to get worse before it gets better. I expect all of Oxfordshire to be in lock-down in next 1-2 weeks and possibly a national lock-down before Christmas (to try and make sure we can have a Christmas and New Year). David (B)

Re: Oxford 1 Day Event - 11 October 2020
We (in South Oxfordshire) is now officially in MEDIUM (according to my NHS app) - is that the same as TIER 1? Hoping it doesn't get worse and prevent us gaming..... David (B)

I'm also happy to go OPEN for the Finals (if I make it that far!) as it seemed to work pretty well @ Trev's recent bash at Polly Bowls (despite my initial reservations about the potential match-ups)! David (B)

Re: Oxford 1 Day Event - 11 October 2020
Alas, I have to drop out of round 1 on 11 Oct, as I am now going into Self Isolation due to being in contact with someone who just tested positive. I hope, with Tom's help, to be able to swap my slot for one in round 2 on 15 Nov. If anyone wants to do that, can they let me and Tom know ASAP? thanks ...

Re: Campaign 2020 Milton Keynes 2 & 3 May 2020
No idea, I was never signed up as it is a 25mm event and I don't have the big toys; rolled over to next year (8th & 9th May 2021)?

Re: Oxford 1 Day Event - 11 October 2020
I am currently available those dates but not sure I can 100% commit to them, so I wonder how that effects the "rounds" if I make, say 2 of the 3? But then if I cannot make the last date, it is unlikely to matter as I rarely make the top half of the table anyway! Also, I was reading/replying to Trev'...

Re: FoGR tournament in Sutton in Ashfield - Sat Sep 5th 2020
Well it just goes to show how confusing the new rules are as the OWS 11 Oct day was reduced to 6 (but is a club in a hall) so bemused by the difference.....
