Might be an idea to use the dedicated subforum for the beta. Which has the information you are asking for :)

Re: Grognerd's Guide is FINISHED!

Seamus is correct, the requirements are the same. A legion can only build roads in a region that could build roads. Seamus screenshot however does not show a legion building a regional road, but a region building the regional road, so still two different things. Anyway, I thought I was pretty sure ...

Re: Grognerd's Guide is FINISHED!

Pretty sure it is just Public Works and at least two additional T1 infrastructure buildings. That is a different thing. The question was about the ability of Roman Legions to build roads, not the ability for a region to build roads :) In case you are not aware of what is being discussed: A roman ar...

Re: Grognerd's Guide is FINISHED!

On sidenote, any idea what is the prerequisite of 'Regional Roads' . I tend to utilize my legion in infrastructure projects, starting with public works, they can also build regional roads but I am not what the exact prerequisite. I don't know, but I seem to be able to build Regional Roads after the...

Re: Grognerd's Guide is FINISHED!

Question about your use of the term "adjacent." Does this mean that, a quarry in a region adjacent to Campania will make use of that sulfur somehow? A trade good available in a region can be used for bonus purposes in adjacent regions. So if Rome controls both Latinum and Ertruria, then Latinum get...

Re: Skirmisher Targeting

My most recent example was a line of 16 light warships against 2 enemy warships. I think about 8-10 of my ships fired and all attacked the same enemy unit, which was then destroyed in the melee phase. So the enemy had 2 ships, you had 16? And of those 16 then 8 or 10 targeted one of those two, thus...

Re: Unable to win

Not what it sounds like. As the Antigonids, it is turn 86 and I have more than 3x the Legacy of my nearest rival, Carthage. Shouldn't I get a win message? Patch 1.04 changed Sudden Death to 100 (so the manual mentioning 50 turns is not correct). "Sudden Death Victory (winning instantly by having th...

Re: Declaring war on a nation that your ally is at war with

And becoming allies with a country means you are at war with whom they are at war, correct? Not correct. You *might* get dragged to a war of your ally, but not necessarily, if you ally after they already are at war. At times this might get complicated, so you really have to follow what happens. For...

1.06 Kolchis mission Rebuilding the old citadel of Kartly

I have an issue with the mission. The game does not want me to build the fort. I have now had two attempts to build a Fort during the 35 turns the mission lasts. So 70 turns in all, and I have had in all 19 times possibility to build something during those turns. I do fulfill the requirements to bui...

Re: Poll on decisions

Also, subsidiary but important question. What are the decisions you feel are lacking? What are the sectors of the game where you feel you don't have a good enough toolbox? Diplomatic decisions. Examples "Diplomatic banquet" 1) Come one, come all! - A general small plus to diplomatic relations with ...

Re: Poll on decisions

Corn Law and health regulations <snip> The 5% health bonus is a nice safe pick too. But late game I will usually go for the Minor Corn Law, for that extra pop in my cap. The Health regulations for 5% health bonus isn't "a safe pick", it is an extremely good population generator late game. If have a...

The least useful (ie which I have never used except one time each in a test game as I wanted to see what they do) for me have been: Merchants and Patricians (x3) Gather food from the land Those are not useful at all in my opinion. Re: Roman Legions Spiraling Costs

I have no problem with spiraling costs as long as it is evenly applied to all similar units - so both legions and phalanx having equal spiraling costs, I would suggest then alae not having spiraling costs along with the Greek heavy foot hoplites. This would sound to me like a very sane proposition :)

Ludendorf, both armies are moving 4 MP's correct? It is my understanding it is strictly luck at that point, a 50/50 shot they will escape. Happy escaping!
Possibility for combat is checked after movement for the round (EDIT: aka "impulse") is complete. Ie the army always escapes in this case.

Re: Roman Legions Spiraling Costs

Also with 1.05 you don't need so many. I have a game up to T250 with Rome, have just raised a 5th army (4 legions each), find that armies of around 3-400 CP are now perfectly fine due to the other changes. No longer seeing any significantly over this limit whereas in earlier builds there was a stea...

So be sure to look in next week to see if there is a space for you. If there isn't, Season 7 will start on February 1st, 2020 and I will add you to the...

Re: Reserve places are now available . . .

Question regarding reserve players. Can reserve-players pick their own army, or do they have to continue with whatever army the player they are replacing had selected? Anyway, please add me as reserve to any group, but I will take part in one (thus I am available for any one of them, but not all, if...
