Re: Favorite WW2 Books

Until the Eyes Shut: Memories of a machine gunner on the Eastern Front, 1943-45 Paperback – October 10, 2019 Hey Goose, I've read this and pretty sure I enjoyed it. Continuing on the subject of German memoirs, I highly recommend Panzer Commander: The Memoirs of Colonel Hans Von Luck . It's one my f...

Re: Grand Campaign West 42-45 (Ultimate)

Ah yes it's very possible that I sent you both. I'll send the Ultimate one a bit later. Oh man. Your playthrough was brilliant. I am going to use for my attempt. Quite amazing how you pulled it off with what seems like ease. Very dynamic and repeatable. How did you get so many good Pz's. Did you im...

Added missing replay although I'm not sure if anyone actually downloads them besides web crawler bots.

Re: Etna Line North

Etna Line North 1 Reload This battle is from hell and gave me huge trouble getting the DV. Reload on turn 3 due to just constant blow-ups leading to an ad nauseam amount of restarts. Deployed a bunch of the aux units to help out as you're given exit hexes for them. https://i.imgur.com/kq0RLNq.jpg D...

Re: Grand Campaign West 42-45 (Ultimate)

holy cow I was checking to see how many you were able to get out. 22 auxiliary units...that is insane IIRC there wasn't much luck or craziness involved, so should be repeatable and probably beatable. Probably a fair amount of restarts though on the opening AI turn roulette wheel though to get a wor...

Re: Grand Campaign West 42-45 (Ultimate)

I am curious why did you want to exit early? Since you are playing on Ultimate your units have limited attack times where I would think getting more kills would be a greater priority then getting out of the kill zone. Richard Martin exited early because he is so averse to taking damage. Damage for ...

Re: Syracuse

Syracuse Quite the puzzle here, getting the aux units out is especially important on Ultimate due to the 100% disband income. Got 22 out which is more than I got on Manstein surprisingly. The three artillery pieces and two AA will also be of great help in the next battle. Two SE tanks to Panthers, ...

Re: Why do you still stick with the OG Panzer Corps?

It's sad to see that there is a PzC 1 anniversary thread here on the forum since more than six months that collected around 100 improvement ideas for PcZ 1 but it didn't receive any official reply or recognition by the developer or publisher team... I personally think the original game has still so...

Red Star #3 - Khalkin Gol River - Zhukov's Strike

Red Star #3 - Khalkin Gol River - Zhukov's Strike Followed the general intent of the design and made a flanking attack, avoiding much of the enemy front line. Two task forces, north and south. The northern force dipped a bit south than probably intended but I was able to trap enemy aircraft which ar...

Red Star #2 - Khalkhin Gol River

Red Star #2 - Khalkhin Gol River Somewhat on the defensive now. Need to move fast up the middle to help the aux units (red glow) defend at least two forward objectives. An obvious choice of the two most-rear ones, the unlucky aux infantry defending the forward-most one is in for a rough battle. The...

Red Star #1 - Lake Khasan

Purchased the first two of what would be many BT-7 tanks, they are my bread a butter until Barbarossa when the T-34 becomes available. Also bought two artilleries and two infantry units with the remaining coin. I've found infantry effectiveness very lackluster so far, especially when attacking. http...

Red Star and Beyond (General Difficulty)

This is the Soviet trilogy on General Difficulty, which is 1.3x enemy strength. I actually tried modding it to 1.5x with a hex editor, but it just becomes too tedious due to the game's retreat mechanics. I also found the first three scenarios against the Japanese sufficiently difficult as is :D One ...

Huck. I see that you did this on Manstein. I have been doing my own research and think I have it prepared for a playthrough, but I would like to see how you handled a few areas I have questions on. Could you send me the raw replay of this match? Yep, just sent you all the 43-45 East scenarios on Ma...

And now I'm getting pummeled by 15 strength enemy aircraft at Pearl Harbor :D Cool. All this hex-stuff reminds of the things I was doing when I was young... Okay, it seems to be easy for everybody to de-compile and read the function's source code, but what's the deal with re-compiling? Re: Difficulty Levels

So continuing from the above I able to able to change the strength modifiers using a hex editor by searching for the current array initializer above but in hex form: 0x9A, 0x99, 0x19, 0x3F, 0xCD, 0xCC, 0x4C, 0x3F, 0x00, 0x00, 0x80, 0x3F, 0x33, 0x33, 0x93, 0x3F, 0x66, 0x66, 0xA6, 0x3F You'll notice t...

Re: Difficulty Levels

I'm also interested in changing max difficulty from +3 enemy strength to +5. Taking a quick look at the game files and it isn't an easy change it seems but I think I found it in the C# code (Assembly-CSharp.dll): App.unitStrengthMaxFactor : Single[] Used By AITasks.KillEnemy..ctor(Double) AITasks.Re...

Re: US Pacific #1 - Pearl Harbor

US Pacific #1 - Pearl Harbor Don't remember why, but a full victory was impossible here I think due to the difficulty? Went southwest then up northwest, no chance of making every stop. Doesn't depend on difficulty. Follow these simple rules for a "Major" win: "The jeep has to stay on...
