Re: Zama - Historical Simulation - Good Joke part 2

but I'm just insisting that this game is no simulation and certainly nothing close to being historical. You bought a game based on toys where in alternating turns where little men standing in perfectly square blocks go in one of eight possible directions and deal mathematically defined 'damage' to ...

Re: Zama - Historical Simulation - Good Joke part 2

Petiloup ---- What was the difficulty level AI ? I propose Deity As you can imagine, I'm getting that kind of reply in other posts I did on other games as well. Now rest assured that changing the game difficulty level is not going to fix the game mechanics and have the AI play better. It just makes...

Re: Zama - Historical Simulation - Good Joke part 2

Don't know if OP is trolling but I will take the bait. AI is competent. The fact that it does not care about loosing generals is because they are not extremely important in this game, which is rather historically inaccurate (especially when it comes to C-in-C). The game genarelly does not factor th...

Zama - Historical Simulation - Good Joke part 2

Now I don't say you shouldn't like the game, but I'm just insisting that this game is no simulation and certainly nothing close to being historical. But to give it even a slight remote chance to change my mind I just played Zama with the Carthaginians... oh boy really felt like playing RISK slightly...

Re: FOGII - Lucky it was cheap

All this is just details that I wouldn't point out if it was not for the saddest part of this whole sorry thing is that it gives you no sense that your tactics have any impact on the battle. I won't rebut you point by point, but many of your issues stem from your failure to use proper tactics in th...

Battle of Carrhae - Historical Simulation - Good joke

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D Best joke of the year :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D Wanted to see how far the farce of calling this a simulation was going. So decided to play Carrhae with the Romans just now. First of all I deployed my troops on a frontal line stretching it both sides as far as ...

FOGII - Lucky it was cheap

When I saw FOGII, I was interested as loving games like Total War but the lack of a campaign map was a no no from the start. Then I saw the game for about $10 on Steam and I thought being worth a movie ticket or two then why not. Where to start on the things that are working? Nice design enough but ...

Re: Sovereignty tested and...

Would love to see that, I really believe this game could be one of the best title out.

At the moment I would love to play but knowing I'll win after playing a dozen turns isn't challenging enough.

Worlds Editor

Just ventured to the "Mod Editor" and this is great.

This opens tons of possibilities that it's quite exciting.

Now was trying to open the tab "Worlds" and getting this error message each time.

Any idea how to fix this or is this part not accessible?

Missed opportunity?

First time I bought a game and having this feeling. One part of me loves this game and want to play it over and over again even though it crashes more often than kites in a storm. Another part hates it as knowing there isn't even a remote chance for me to lose a game [assuming complete conquest as d...

Sovereignty tested and...

First of all, I played Wargames for 30+ years now so it's a second nature to understand what works or not in a game. After a few disappointments buying some WW2 games I thought this might be better as an Heroic & Fantasy game. Can't really compare Ogres vs Elves as in history books and known mechani...
