Re: Roll Call 2019

I don't think game times have been published as yet - I think 3 hour games are enough, so would the following be OK:

Sat:
Game 1: 9:30 - 12:30
Game 2: 13:30 - 16:30
Sun:
Game 3: 9:00 - 12:00
Game 4: 13:00 - 16:00

Be interesting to see the two Sassanids to see how similar they are. I'm assuming mine will be miles better than Terry's. If not and I play him I'll just have to rely on dice.
Relying on your dice seems to be your only tactic (although it does seem to work !)
If it ain't broke....

Re: Roll Call 2019

Let us just hope that the person carrying out the draw does so in a fair and consistent manner.

Now, let me think... Who is going to be doing the draw?

Re: Roll Call 2019

I'm liking the look of all those Nikeforians. North Africans could be tricksy. Norse Irish could take a lot of killing.... But not as much as the Sciri .... Re: Pursuers in contact to side...

If you read the beginning of page 76 it states: "Battle groups in side edge to side edge contact are not committed to close combat, and are free to move away. If they do not move away, no combat occurs unless they are eligible to fight as an overlap. If not eligible to fight as an overlap, they can ...

Re: MAWS - Medieval Club Competition Final

You're right about not charging the Swedes on my extreme right being the crucial moment (a big mistake!). It should have saved me a couple of units and lost you at least one, and that might have turned the game round. Lesson hopefully learned! Incidentally, you defined the poor troops as light spea...

MAWS - Medieval Club Competition Final

So after a years campaigning at the MAWS club, we reach the final of the Medieval tournament. It was Medieval Scandinavian v Later Low Countries. The armies themselves were fairly straightforward: However, due to a handicap system, the Later Low Countries had 850 pts to play with and the Swedes 800....

Re: Warfare 2019

We are investigating holding a competition in Manchester - when would be the best time? Not sure how many we could get in the room - probably about 20 tables.
