Re: GC Barbarossa to Berlin

Screenshot of my current problem. I was doing OK in the south as the weather was not frozen and I was slowly eliminating the Soviet units at the crossings. Then it froze and they all piled across the river. I have some light opposition in the north but I will eliminate that pretty quickly. The ques...

Re: GC Barbarossa to Berlin

For Budapest, I had to rush my southern force across the river to meet the Soviets. I didn't do it fast enough my first time and was bogged down. Second time I kept them in lone with the city and pushed them back. Didn't have enough infantry to clear the woods though. Got a MW. I pulled the infantry...

Re: Rudel.

Personally i keep him in a stuka upgraded to maximum stars available. 15 Strudel takes out any tank underneath his bomber, they're simply gone! But later on in the war, i switch him into the Hs 129, to destroy any soft targets just as easily. Does the HS 129 still wreck tanks? I love how Rudel in a...

Re: GC Barbarossa to Berlin

Jassay is definitely interesting. I had a flying column rush to the Romanian area. They were folding basically after one solid turn of contact. Even entrenched on Hills T34s would hit for 5-7 damage, even with artillery support. Def a fun scenario. Makes you respect the Soviets, as they now always ...

I like your reports but I'd like to see some maps and maybe screen shots. They help with the narrative

That or be able to fight battles with other Allied units that are on your side but not under your control. Like Stalingrad, if you do a Leningrad 42' then you have to help try and break the Axis troops out of Stalingrad. The forces in Stalingrad will wait for your forces while fighting, and maybe ge...

Wow, must have been basically invincible unless he was really softened up by artillery

Anyone have a video of how to install it? I can't seem to do it. I can make the shortcut change the name in the file, but I don't know what to do after that.
Wouldn't mind paying for this ahem ahem if it were available on steam

Especially early scenarios. There's another friendly army on the map that you have to help or be helped by to achieve the objectives.

Nothing like a +9 +9 hero with a special acquisition method to keep people discussing it years later. =D That said, I personally didn't turn him into a fighter bomber. I have quite the collection of Luftwaffe Fighter Aces, I don't really ever feel a crushing need for more air power. I'm much happie...

Re: Afrika Korps - Italian Challenge on Rommel

Ok thanks. The Italian challenge is hard. The tanks get roughed up, even by infantry. And that airforce isn't bad, but it takes AAA to stop the British.
Thanks for the tips, hopefully I can replay some battles and get some better equipment via capturing stuff

Wow love the detail for the units and heros.
I'm doing the Italian campaign too. Do you get a bf 109 ever? Man the Italian planes just aren't very good against the British

For those that like challenges, have a historical campaign.
I'd like an option though. Think PG2 had a Moscow 43 option if you won at Stalingrad and a middle east option as well

Mainly to bolster my flank, maybe drawing out enemies or ambushing. They can do some serious damage to tanks when snowing. Never understood what the marked B hexes were for. Same question. Wonder if they had planned on using them? For instance if the commando units enter the B hexes, then allied un...

Re: This game never ends... I suppose

Starting a 39 grand campaign takes a while. 40-42 fly by, but 43-44 you really start to have to be very careful. Easy to blow all your prestige if you pointlessly batter your forces. Plus there's east and west. So there's a lot to do. I find you have to take different approaches to the Western Allie...

What did you do with Sarkozy commandos in the first Bulge? I used one to harass an artillery piece while staying in the woods. The others just were up for much. We're just kinda good faster infantry
