Construction column

Rhodus has so many unique buildings that the Construction column is almost totally obscured. Might a region's unique structures get a "..." after a certain number that would then only show all of them if the cursor was directly over it?

Re: Not my first Rhodus

I'm down to the last 30 turns. Rome is in second place far behind Rhodus, so its a fait accompli. I could just coast out. But where's the fun in that? Rome had acquired the Achaia faction's regions in Graecia and had started to encroach on my realm. They even asked Rhodus to be their client. So I br...

Blockade a waste?

I have Rome under sea blockade. However, in the pic, Rome is still trading by sea. They even have land trade to another blockaded harbor that is trading by sea with a region under siege. I know that the region under blockade loses the income from the harbor, but shouldn't that cripple sea trade? It ...

Re: On Trade

I got that message about my coinage devaluing for several turns. However, I was always making more money in total than I ever lost. Eventually the event stopped and I'm still getting +225% to commerce.

Re: On Trade

It's hard to make out, but it's only 242% in Sinai. I have an overall of 220%.

On Trade

A Trade Center increases the regions Acumen by +5 and a Pleasure District increases it by +3. I use a lot of money, manpower and metal producing structures in my regions. So trade items that give these structures useful or bonus items make a lot of trades. Here, little Sinai is making 612 money from...

Any connection?

I gifted my client state a large sum of money and several turns later they started giving me their regions. Is this just a coincidence?

Re: Not my first Rhodus

I'm over 70k in legacy and way ahead of Rome who is #2. I have 5 armies each of 8 Sarmatian Cataphracts, 16 Improved Heavy Infantry and either 16 Alani or Phanagerian Horse Archers. Rome is huge, but has suffered three civil wars already. I will be ready to snatch up some roman territory should this...

0.5 Legacy

I had the opportunity to build a structure in Rhodus that provided half a Legacy point per turn. Since Legacy is the decider of who wins and every bit counts, I constructed it. However, the effect was rounded down and provided zero Legacy. Fractions are counted in decadence, so why not Legacy?

One region challenge

Here's a One Region challenge. In this, you only have one region and do the best you can. This is 100 turns in. The interesting thing is I have overall green decadence, i.e., I have accumulated negative decadence. Also, since a faction needs 10 regions to qualify for Tier III, I have plateaued at Gl...

Re: On skirmishers

Thanks Pocus, for doing what Suul could not. 1. Ranged combat causes effectiveness loss, that affects melee combat. I agreed with Suul about this mechanic. 2. I pointed out that the ranged combat also causes exhaustion, which affects the combat roll in melee. 3. The unit loses effectiveness and suff...

Re: On skirmishers

So what is written in the manual is confusing...to you. I don't want to argue. We can discuss the evidence, but you have to present some. Why do you believe that extra fatigue margin deals with the melee phase? I posted from the manual that fatigue is caused in the ranged phase by skirmishers. Where...

Re: On skirmishers

From the manual: "10.7.3. Ranged combat phase All units with some ranged capacity will fire against the enemy in this phase. Some units can only hit the enemy frontline, some can reach the enemy support line or even the reserve units.126 In term of gameplay, the mechanics used are the same as the du...

Game too hard for the AI?

I attacked Antigonids and won a few battles. So their faction collapsed. Then I attacked Macedonia and their faction collapsed. The Seleucids controlled about a third of the map and after I attacked them...they collapsed. While this was happening, Rome had three civil wars, the last with 5 Usurpers,...

Re: On skirmishers

I might seriously understand that if it actually said that somewhere. P.S. I seriously understand "Exhaustion" though. The effect exists in at least three levels, wherein the affected unit suffers -1, -2 or -3 to the die roll. I don't have a pic for -1, perhaps because I use Exceptional skirmishers....

Re: On skirmishers

As I posted, I only did it once with each different skirmisher. I was not attempting a science experiment. I just wanted to see if it was even possible to set up something that could create useful data. I had one stack with a 0-0 general with all the units in it. Then I saved and split off the skirm...

Re: On skirmishers

Swuul, we may both be correct. The statement under whether the game considers a skirmisher as Good, Superior or Exceptional mentions "Extra fatigue margin". So the mechanic is what you describe, plus an "extra fatigue margin" caused by the unit. I know when I was testing this last January, Light cav...
