I am hoping that it has rewritten to not require DOSBox. The GOG version was originally released over 10 years ago(!)

The 48-hour limit was for the Field Marshal Preview (version 0.9.14). Assuming that you are a closed beta tester, if you unlock and reselect the beta (in Steam) you can continue playing.

I have the same issue with the Field Marshal Preview edition but it is in the reverse(!): When the GB Hvy Infantry on the road southwest of Trondheim attacks me the turn never advances so I have to force quit. Perhaps there is something wrong with that particular unit, like an corrupted animation or...

I believe the term "Stacking", in this context, means that each additional allied unit that is adjacent to the target enemy (and has not fired this turn) adds to the bonus. It is not just "Mass Attack" or "No Mass Attack" because the bonus scales with the number of eligible units that can participate.

I'm a turn-based strategy (TBS) gamer and not into real-time strategy (RTS) but this game looks quite fun -- and intense! -- plus the Artistocrats (developers of "Order of Battle") are behind it so that's a big +++!

I thought there was a hotkey that allowed you to do this: Move an AA unit underneath an aircraft before firing at it? I believe that I just did this in Endseig with a Ctrl-click or something similar. Or, then again, that could just be wishful thinking. . . :?

Two units occupying the same hex may be a graphic glitch. We've seen this in the past. With the game engine Unity being updated issues like this may have returned. Two incidents that I described (above) were related to parachutists jumping into an occupied hex -- which they should not be allowed to...

Three save games from the above incidents. Note that reloading the save game resolved the multiple unit per hex issue by removing a unit or moving it off the map!

This has happened to me three times now after playing Endseig again: two units occupying the same hex. The first two instances were enemy parachutists landing in the same hex as existing unit. One time the original occupier of the hex was a friendly unit, another time it was an enemy unit. Reloading...

The Computer Opponent (CO) does run into ambushes occasionally, like when blundering into a hidden infantry unit in a city/supply hex or attacking an entrenched infantry unit with an anti-tank unit positioned behind it, but I have also seen it stop short or not attack. I'm pretty sure you can do this during deployment phase. If your goal is to have a paratrooper in a plane during deployment phase please follow my instructions. This works but it requires an unoccupied airfield that is available for deploying land units; the airstrip , with the hangar and watchtowe...

Well, the Air/Land layer toggle idea did not work. The layer is automatically selected -- and forced -- when the unit is selected. That is a bummer but not totally surprising due to the lack of a balancing mechanic like Panzer Corps' air resource availability. I guess I will never purchase any parat...
