Topic: Problems with too few partisans in PBEM games

In a recent PBEM mirror match i was getting few partisans in russia as the allies but seeing a lot more appear as the axis. apparently there is a random factor but no idea what it is.

BTW do tcpip games still lack partisans? If so it is a advantage to the axis.

Surely this is wrong, otherwise making advances in industrial output is penalised if you have less than 100% production wheras the germans start at 107% so their bonus is more than 13? Anyway the splash screens say 7%, 6% etc etc, no mention of modification for war efforts less than 100% If you foll...

Peculier industrial progress

Without labs your industrial output will increase every few turns eventually reaching 100. Adding tech might sound like a good idea but beware! If you get 2 industrial level rises that should give you 7+6= 13 percent increase, but. As the russians i got 2 industry level increases but only have 108% ...

v 1.04 wont run

As I have some outstanding PBEM games I installed a new version of the game in a different folder and applied the 1.2 and 1.4 patches to that folder So now the game won't run On starting the game I get a splash screen to choose a language, I chose english and the splash screen disappears, then NOTHI...

If marines cost considerable pp they might be a useful addition IF they were used for their intended purpose, LANDINGS!. What I would not like to see is a marine unit lending fire support to another marine unit with no intention of actually landing inself. Several corps worth of marines just sitting...

Very good changes guys. Still, you should give a moment to current partisans rule status which is inexcusable and in –must change- tasks. First, partisans should be in every type of play or they shouldn’t be in any type of play. Second, partisans should always have supply, at least, at minimum leve...

If marines cost less than battleships and cause more casulaties in amphibous combat there is a incentive to build them rather than battleships! It is important that any new unit type should not have unintended consequences. Making them very expensive, say 100pp means they should be used for their in...

Marines - not used in europe ww2, players will use them as cheap shore bombardment units. make them cost 100 points and restrict to ONE corps Paratroops - players will scatter them all over the map in suicide missions. Make them cost 100 points and restrict to ONE corps, also automatically out of su...

Attack with lots of tac air and some battleships. the idea is to kill more levels than can be repaired. eventually the garrison will dissapear and you can land a unit to occupy the smouldering wreckage.

Malta has zero impact on the axis ability to wage war in Africa, unlike the real war. so just leave it alone.

If you have a naval unit next to the coast it does provide minimum supply to units that can trace to it. You have restricted movement and can only repair 1 level per turn but at least you are in supply.

Leave it alone until after Berlin falls seems a favorite choice, otherwise via Sicily seems the logical choice and then the long grind up the boot. Or bypass it altogether and go for the Balkans!

British also had a large Fleet Air Arm, some of which operated from land too, plus coastal command- for game purposes its all considered part of their carrier power. I never see anyone building carriers, so they can't be that good. Your carriers are causing me a LOT of problems in our PBEM game ear...

I reckon it is the random number generator used to create convoys, any convoy below a certain size just does not appear so if you get unlucky you can miss several convoys. This can be a game killer for the russians and it is a pity that LUCK is playing such an important part in allied pp generation....

The original patch announcement did say it would only work with the Slitherine version and the final release patch would work with the Matrix version. It is frustrating as I would like the chance to do some testing but was not aware of the version problem when I originally purchased.

No need to get personal!! I have to agree with Yohan here. The long term viability of the game depends on adding some logic to events if players want to use it. Russian variable entry is irrelevant as I have yet to see Germany wait that long to open Barbarossa. USA variable entry is possibly neutral...
