Re: rail gauge conversion bug

That is old rules and not referenced by the current code. This is what we have: if (notFairWeather && ownerSide == Global.AXIS && whosTurn() == Global.ALLIES) canConvert = false; RAIL_HEAD_ADVANCE_FAIR 2 /* Number of hexes the rail heads advance each turn in fair weather */ RAIL_HEAD_ADVANCE_MUD_WI...

Re: rail gauge conversion bug

I don't think this is a bug. Remember that rail conversion only takes place if the weather is fair in the hex. Not easy to convert rail lines in muddy or snowy conditions. You said you captured Minsk in October 1943 then mud or winter probably happened the following turn and it lasted till May. Sin...

Re: rail gauge conversion bug

I found this at page 250 of the latest GS 4.0 manual .

BTW ,the other pbem of this mirror pbem , the rail does convert in winter or mud weather in Nov 1943 to Feb 1944 one hex a turn in same area . I double confirm about it !

If you need any file , please advise ! Thank you !

Re: rail gauge conversion bug

Rail Gauge Conversion Rate Rail gauge conversion: ◆ Fair weather in target area: 2 hexes per turn ◆ Mud/winter/severe winter in target area: 1 hex per turn

the above is the words in the Mannual . Is it changed ? What is the latest change ?

rail gauge conversion bug

In one of my present mirror pbem on the latest version , I met an unusual situation of rail gauge conversion : The Red army liberate Minsk in autumn 1943 , & the USSR rail extend to the hex west next to Minsk in Oct 1943 . But until Apr 1944 , when red army does already conquered Warsaw for several ...

Re: an "invincible" defence of France (v4.0)

UK doesn't need to bring everything to France . Just several units (4-6)including the Canadian Gars & the RAF . The RAF can even stay in UK (at the coast of English Channel). So BEF is not the problem , the problem is the French power is too strong . Just return to the original France set up ( no ar...

Re: an "invincible" defence of France (v4.0)

Thanks a lot for your great explaination ! In fact , the game engine rebuilds French forces , but the Allies player won't make the same mistake as the Allies commander had made in real history , & Axis does quite difficult to copy the surprise attack from Adon forest & hard to take Paris before June...

Re: an "invincible" defence of France (v4.0)

The French garrison is not awful,It can only delay,The horror is the French attack aircraft, tank, cavalry,They can kill the German unit completely,This is not in conformity with history. Especially the French tank ! Actually France only had arm division at most , never a tank army there ....... :)

Re: an "invincible" defence of France (v4.0)

Actually ,I do agree to give Axis an easier job in France so that Axis will have more room to survive longer . UK can give Germany extra casulties in France in 1940 especially by RAF . The loss of British can be easily recovered within several turns after France campaign . But the loss of Axis is ex...

Re: GS 4.0 AAR (last update) Plaid (Axis) vs Vokt (Allies)

I still remember that If Axis will be able to hold one of its capital ( Rome , Berlin , Humburg), it will be Axis minor victory . Is there anything change ?

Re: AAR 4.0c Morris Axis vs Max Allies

July 22nd 1943 fair Allies conquer Baku whenever USSR surrender & launch massive offense from there . It seems the Caucasus group won't transfer back to west front ! They will have to stay there to deal with the Allies ! https://img.supmil.net/data/attachment/forum/201702/12/215614hxdd8eeaevlwuige.j...

Re: AAR 4.0c Morris Axis vs Max Allies

The pictures are not working. It's been a while since I saw the Soviet surrender in CEAW. It will be interesting to see how much Supermax can do with the Western Allies before the end-date. it seems the pictures are working well on my laptop , maybe because of different explorer ? Everything will b...
