2019 Team event - bringing it to a close

I see that all the Round 2 games are complete, except for those involving Pixel. I assume that Pixel is having some sort of difficulty in finding time for his games (and there is still one of his Round 1 games outstanding Ithink). However, it is very difficult for his opponents to keep focused on a ...

Re: The Ming and their enemies - Round Two

fikabo (Southern Rebels) defeats Ahuyton (Tibetan Lords) 62:49 Very hard battle for me. Most time I have feeling that I lost it. I have more mens (14k to 10k) but with cost of small number of horses and many raw units. So at beginning I winning with more my units engage in shooting and mele but whe...

Re: The Ming and their enemies - Round Two

Hello everybody

Thanks to Fikabo and Pixel for picking up their games. Hopefully we can get these finished by early November.

How are the games with Eobrian2 going? I have received no word on this.

Re: The Ming and their enemies - Round Two

ahuyton (Tibetan Lords) won against Gentleman Ranker 58-32 This was actually a very close game for most turns. At one stage I counted three fragmented units on my side. I managed to pull ahead as the game broke up and pieces scattered. A draw would have been a fairer result I think. I concur with Br...

The Ming team is ready with its army selection for Round Two. As soon as the anti-Ming selection is complete, SB, please send it to me and we can get started.

Re: The Ming and their enemies - Round One

So with just one game to go (Pixel v Eobrian2), our interesting Round One has come to a close. The anti-Ming are a clear winner and the Ming will have a hard job in Round Two to catch-up. Well done to SB, Fik, GR and EOB. I wonder if players would like to share their thoughts on the armies used, ta...

The Ming and their enemies - Round Two

The games are nearly finished in Round 1 and hopefully the remaining two games will soon be over. Well done to everyone. During the round, we decided that for Round 2, the teams would remain with their Ming or Anti-Ming bias, as follows: Pro-Ming - 1600 onwards Kiwiwarlord (captain) LFDLM ahuyton Eo...

I have no strong feelings on the matter. The armies will change anyway, as the later lists have more gunpowder etc.
Thanks, so let us then stay attached to our first teams
- Ming led by KW
- Anti-Ming led by SB

I will update the rules accordingly

Re: The Ming and their enemies - Round One

Brian, my expectation was that the teams would stay the same, but the factions would change, i.e. I would choose a pro-Ming army for Round 2, and you would select from the anti-Ming armies. That is correct, the composition of the Teams stays the same GR. The proposal is that the Ming Team continue ...

Unable to create skirmish - 'unknown error'

I tried several times today to create a skirmish but receive an error message ('unknown error'). Then follows a screen to report that the skirmish is created, but my skirmish does not appear either on the list of challenges to accept or in 'my challenges'. I tried several permutations, eg different ...

Re: The Ming and their enemies - Round One

Snugglebunnies (Wokou pirates) won against ahuyton (Tibetan Lords) 45-28 A river across the middle of the field and plenty of woods made manouevre difficult for both of us. SB took the risk of crssing the river, to his credit, and then we swirled around shooting and trying to find advantage. Interes...

Re: The Ming and their enemies - Round One

ahuyton (Tibetan Lords) won against Gentleman Ranker's Southern Rebels 50-14

A pleasant open terrain for my cavalry, a handy wood or two for my skirmishers and plenty of good luck going my way. A pleasant game, irrespective of the result, as is always the case with Nick.
