Division C rs2excelsior (Lydian 550-546 BC) beats kerrak (Assyrian 681-609 BC with Arab allies 1000-313BC) 62-42 A hard fought match from start to finish. The Assyrians deployed their main body in between two woods, while the Lydian forces faced them on a low hilltop. I knew I wouldn't be able to ta...

Re: The Rally Point (discussion and questions)

A clarification question regarding the themed event, as this is my first time in that section: the rules say that paired/mirror matches will be used throughout, but the fixtures for the first stage list an army for each player. Are the first round matches normal (non-mirror) matches?

Re: Important message regarding the Open Beta . . .

Will games in the Biblical section be able to use the tabletop mod with the beta version? I’ve got very little experience using either mods or beta branches in this game, so I’m not sure exactly how that would work.

Re: Things we learned the hard way.

Apparently cavalry were not really as useful as they were depicted in nearly every preceding war game ever produced. Try out a cavalry-heavy army (especially one that uses a lot of lancers). I played a Byzantine army this season in the Digital League, learned a lot about how cavalry works. Lancers ...

Re: Zombies are coming to town, in this Field of Glory 2 Mod

An Imperial Roman legion, responding to reports of a slave uprising, reported an approaching mob of rabble just as dusk fell. Despite being fatigued from the day's march, the legion formed for battle, auxiliaries taking a position at the edge of a rough terrain, steep hill, and the main body of legi...

Re: Difference in Army Size When Playing Multiplayer

When you're setting up a single player match, you can click "advanced options" to see (and edit) the exact point allocations to each side. SP does give the AI extra points compared to the player, or what a MP opponent would have.

Division D rs2excelsior (Roman) beat KiFi (Macedonian) 64-41 The Roman legion met the Macedonians on a largely open field, with a rough terrain hill on the Roman left and another patch of level, rough ground on the right. Division D rs2excelsior (Roman) beat bomber23 (Syracusan) 45-16 The field was fairly open, which favored the Roman legions. A single unit of Thureophoroi posted on rough ground on a hilltop and the Roman cavalry screened the right flank, while the main body crashed into the Syracusan right. Despite ...

Re: Late Antiquity; winners post your results here . . .

Division D rs2excelsior (Byzantine) beat GeneralKostas (Frankish) 63-52 I have to admit, I miscalculated in the deployment. I saw Frankish and I was expecting lancers--but I was thinking about later Frankish lists and was instead met by a mainly warband force, backed up by lancers and archers. The f...
