Re: Field of Diplomacy: Winds of Change

If Rufus would rather keep playing Sarmatia, I can also change from Dacia to Macedonia. I think Sarmatia might have a bigger impact on the game, especially early on, than Dacia... Let me know

Re: Field of Diplomacy: Winds of Change

The latter- MP in the game is quite forgiving if you're off for a few days. The AI also does not override your building orders but will issue new ones when buildings are completed. Those will likely be bad ones, but if you're back by 3-4 turns, that shouldn't be a big deal. Not sure how the AI hand...

Re: Field of Diplomacy: Winds of Change

What happens if you miss your 36 hours window for a turn? Are you out definitively or does the AI take that turn for you but you can come back afterwards?

Re: What are the Slash numbers under manpower and metal on UI

Those are caps. They were there from the start iirc (Manpower cap was definitely there, but Metal I'm not sure...I didn't see it but maybe I never had enough metal). With the latest 1.04 update they're more significant. Basically, based on your military expertise (from buildings, nation traits, lead...

Re: AI Antigonids conquered half the world...now what?

theres a random element in this (at least I think so) as I've seen them collapse when losing a war but not actually already old. in my last game, a load of nations spawned over the next couple of turns to fill the gaps but there was about 40-50 years with some very strong independent armies stompin...

Re: AI Antigonids conquered half the world...now what?

Nestus is the region for Lysimachids. It only happen if they are old or worse... Same for the others Diadiochi. Ok, that's good to know. So it's best to go after them when they're old. However, in the meantime something really interesting happened. I kept chipping away at their territory, just abou...

Re: AI Antigonids conquered half the world...now what?

its unusual in the main, but I have seen it when I play a relatively minor faction - so have little early game impact. If the Antigonids survive, they are indeed well placed. The capital problem, is that it can move. So have a look for where it is currently - you'll often see the region on the map ...

It's in Region_Ethnic_ConvertChance

The base is 4% now.
Each unrest of your pop multiply that by 0.8.
It's greatly increased by culture from your ethnic group

Thank you!

AI Antigonids conquered half the world...now what?

Hi, So I'm playing my first full campaign as Dacia and Antigonids are pretty much unstoppable. I'm curious if there's anything I can do to try and catch up or just call it quits. They have hundreds of regions and the weird thing is that they somehow keep it all together. They do have some loyalty is...

Percentage modifiers of 'base convert value'...but what is that value?

Hi, Quick question about buildings/leaders that increase base convert value by x%...where can I find that base convert value? Is it a percentage (like say 10% percent chance that each year 1 pop unit in each region will convert) and the modifiers will simply add to that percentage chance ? And relat...

Re: Buildings: estimated changes vs bonus effects

One thing that is not shown is the impact of imported goods. For instance if you build a wax-producing building that requires some honey, the preview doesn't show you that importing honey will net you 5 money from another building and that the was will give you 5+10 culture from 2 other buildings. ...

Re: Buildings: estimated changes vs bonus effects

because you have modifier that lower you culture production (recently conquered or similar, don't remember exatly for this icon) estimated changes show changes not only with bonus- also with all modifiers that affect this region Oh OK, that makes sense! If the estimate takes into account absolutely...

Re: Buildings: estimated changes vs bonus effects

I think it's not taking them into account because you probably don't really have a source of papyrus? Are you sure you've got papyrus in the same region or it's adjacent regions? I mean a proper source of papyrus, not a building that "simulates" importing papyrus where there is none to be imported....

Buildings: estimated changes vs bonus effects

So I'm confused about the building proposal screen. Most of the time, it looks like the Estimated Changes section takes into account the presence of Bonus good described below it. Sorry I don't have an screenshot, but a good example is the Market, which shows an estimated income anywhere between 10-...

Re: Anyone running Field of Glory II using Wine?

Wine is definitely tripping over something very badly. Have you installed anything extra the FOG2 Wine prefix? Have you tried to delete the prefix and let Proton recreate it? Consider reporting the problem on the Proton bug tracker. It may not be a bug but perhaps one of the Proton developers can m...

Did that, I'm no expert but I don't see anything too bad in that log. There's a bunch of fixme's similar to this: 270.114:003e:0041:fixme:d3d_shader:print_glsl_info_log Info log received from GLSL shader #18: 270.114:003e:0041:fixme:d3d_shader:print_glsl_info_log Vertex info 270.114:003e:0041:fixme:...

Re: Linking with FoG2 on Linux

If you have run each game once then it should automatically work out what version you have, so if you have Steam versions then it should be trying to use Steam to kick off the game already, rather than looking for the EXE. Cheers Pip Thanks for the tip, unfortunately I had already tried running all...

Re: Anyone running Field of Glory II using Wine?

I tried running it using Proton (Steam's version of Wine) and it works (after manually setting the resolution in options.txt) but unfortunately the performance is very low...practically unplayable. I have the latest nvidia drivers (I'm on a nVidia 1050Ti graphics card) and vulkan is running, so I'm ...

Re: Playing as Dacia...stil no way to get Light Infantry/Skirmishers?!

its how Dacia has been set up as a hint to where the units are - go for one of the Illyrian provinces you can also check out the units database Thanks, will keep that in mind! You get LC skirmishers from the start IIRC, which are better anyway By LC you mean Light Cavalry right? Yes, I can create t...
