I just stumbled across this two-year old thread...glanced at it because I couldn't remember reading about a "Battle of Tanagra", but I couldn't shake the feeling that the name was familiar. Then it hit me. Any other Trek fans out there?

Re: Pike and Shot freezing on initial loading
I followed your advice, deleted all of them and then installed about a dozen scenarios. It seems to be working fine now. Perhaps I was just trying to add too much all at once the first time I accessed a new install of the game. Thanks for the help! And...thanks for many hours of great gaming! Field ...

Pike and Shot freezing on initial loading
Hello, Previously logged over a thousand hours playing "Pike & Shot", but haven't played it in awhile, and never on the new computer I'm now using. Saw some screenshots online somewhere of a modded scenario I don't remember seeing back when I played, was intrigued by it, and decided to...

"35 more units (11 brand new, 24 new to Medieval)"
Normally I snatch these expansions up on the day of release, but the cruel vagaries of fate compel me to delay. Soon...very soon.
In the meantime, I am consumed by curiosity. "11 brand new?"

Re: First Tournament
Not to sound cranky, but not one of my three games was finished before we ran out of time. The first two games I recognize my own lethargic pace in posting turns likely contributed. But in my final match, both my opponent and I had seen our previous games called for time, and we were exchanging turn...

Anyone know if PCMATTIE (Gary?) is okay?
I started playing FOG with "pcmattie" back when there wasn't a "2" after the name, and we've been exchanging challenges since. Its funny how you form a friendship with someone without ever meeting them in person, or even seeing a picture of them. I've always thought of him by his...

Re: Elephants panicking
The African bush elephant has seemingly never been used in warfare. I didn't realize that. I was aware that the Successors got their war elephants from India. I wonder if it was just a matter of the Mediterranean-area Empires not having come into contact with the Bush Elephant? It can't be that the...

Re: Elephants panicking
I expect its either me - or perhaps people getting used to dealing with elephants - but they seem a lot easier to put down these days. Certainly they are devastating in a flank attack - but head on; seems to be a waste of 60 points. They are good for giving cav the yips - but easily bypassed. I don...

Playing the game on a different computer
My long-suffering old PC seems to finally be "hors du combat", and I'm forced to move my headquarters to the spartan accommodations of my wife's laptop. I downloaded Steam, and certain key games on my Steam account that I can't live without. Pike and Shot Campaign being downloaded first! :...

I enjoy this game - I just wish it would work better for me!
I was excited to see the Burma Road expansion advertised...I've really enjoyed playing this title, and though I have yet to get through all the content produced up to this point, its good to see it continuing to get support. I find the way aircraft work in the game vastly superior (read: more realis...

Re: Order of Battle returns to Asia with Burma Road!
Was very excited to see this!
I've very much enjoyed this title, especially the opportunity to play campaigns in theatres not generally covered, such as the Chinese invasion of Japan.
Glad to see it continuing to get support!

Re: Field of Glory II is announced!
I've been waiting a long time for this, and if the screenshots, and Mr. Scott's outstanding work on Pike and Shot are any indications, my prayers are about to be answered. Thank you in advance for your hard work. There have been games that came close to simulating ancient warfare with a degree of hi...

Re: Japanese Rising Sun Campaign Specialization Bug?
I just did a quick #igotnukes thing to whip through the U.S. Pacific campaign. All scenarios started properly but I noticed that Leyte, which I think is what he is talking about ("the return to the Philippines"), and Operation Downfall took the longest to load. Largest maps? Most units in...

Re: Japanese Rising Sun Campaign Specialization Bug?
Looking at the code, it should actualy give 3 stars to the first three air units you purchase. Note that this includes both fighters and bombers. It does not affect aircraft already purchased however, while still counting them toward the limit. That needs to be fixed. Is this the issue you are seei...

Japanese Rising Sun Campaign Specialization Bug?
Hello...I'm a late-comer to this game, and have mostly played the original Pacific Campaigns plus the Morning Sun China campaign. To illustrate just how recently I started playing, I never even saw the original Specialization system. There are many things I like about the game, but I am saddened to ...

Re: Order of Battle: the new Import tool
I realize this is an old thread, so I'm not sure how likely it is that my question will be seen. I didn't buy OOB when it first came out, so have only really gotten deeply into playing it in the last month or two. I've just finished the Morning Sun Campaign, which I found very enjoyable, chiefly bec...

Re: Le Roi Soleil - Challenges
I understand that the Potluck God is a fickle and mercurial diety...and clearly one who has cursed me. I was more looking for advice on how to best use the Hungarian Rebels in battle. Though clearly some armies are better than others, I always assume that there must be some tactic or technique to ma...

Re: Le Roi Soleil - Challenges
Can someone kindly tell me what a HUNGARIAN KURUC REBELLION army is good for, other than giving Habsburg musketeers target practice? As near as I can tell, they are an appalling waste of quality mounts. The fact that over 90% of the army is on horseback is primarily useful because they can move fast...
