Re: DLC 1941 East Front ideation

I'm all for actually being able to prioritise the capture the power station at Volkhov and then fighting my way to the (rather beautiful and slightly Roman) central square in Leningrad / St Petersburg and taking a tour around the Hermitage. If you haven't yet been to St Petersburg, go. If anyone ca...

Re: Ideas for Panzer Corps 2

I can agree that units that appear on the map ahead of their historical production or introduction period can be out of place. At the same time, the LaGG-3 fighters were replaced with I-16s in two scenarios, so it's not like the voice of the players is ignored entirely. Pazner Corps 1 and in fact a...

and obviously an option since 'no airforce' trait would make it unwinnable. You say it's obvious, but it was not an optional scenario in it's initial iteration. Only after the fact was this realized, and the scenario converted into an 'optional' mission. :P This has me a bit worried. To maximize my...

Re: Hero abilities tier list

I really enjoyed PC1. The Heroes in this game seem to be way too much for my taste and that's why I haven't purchased this game. Can you play without Heroes enabled? If so, would the game still be enjoyable? Thanks for any opinions. Hi. They are definitely removable - as previously said, use the Ad...

Late to the party as I haven't been on the forum for a while......if the vote remains open, my bets are: 5B, 5C and 5E. Loads of scope for campaigning in the Baltics / Leningrad / Finnish border area - cutting off the arctic convoy lifelines to Murmansk (and maybe Archangelsk?) and a full-on assault...

Re: Demotorise Your Core: Idea for Your Next Playthrough

I haven't quite gone that far in my latest playthrough, although I've always been a leg infantry proponent. I've taken the Italy branch for the first time in 1943 and have been "levelling up" accordingly in the prior battles - slow modernisation, my favourite trait, really bites in 1943 as your enem...

Re: Finished AO 1939

Personally speaking, I hope that "accessibility" of scenarios (e.g. moderating challenge levels) isn't a mantra you stick to rigidly in later DLC. I'd prefer tough battles (medium sized battles can also be tough) with perhaps a couple of extra turns on the clock to allow for sensible asset managemen...

Re: Losing the entire game due to missing by one or two turns is garbage.

Well i looked at both the sealion maps(25 turns) and the bagration map(21 turns)... i dont see the comparison.Click to open. https://i.ibb.co/3Fgpm3w/compairson.jpg It takes 3 turns to move the units and engage the enemy in the north from bialystock the deployment zone... That leaves 17 turns to de...

Re: Ideas for Panzer Corps 2

Have you thought about recalculating the impacts of replacement. The Germans in 44/45 had some of the most potent units available even after the eastern front and suffering losses. I believe that if there is more than half the available original units there should be little no loss of experience as...

Re: Having a blast with Spanish Civil War!

Infinite spawns - and infinite prestige to repair both. It's strange how the perception of the AI having infinite prestige comes to be. AI has near 0 prestige, with always 0 to start and only a per turn income of about 100 or 200. Compare that to the tens of thousands of prestige put at the players...

Re: The First Nemesis: Comandante Vega

I love the idea of the Nemesis enemy, they add some RPG elements to the campaign. But to be honest, as long as they can be encircled and surrendered, they don't pose a real threat. I actually intentionally encircled him and let him live until the last mission. But he can only cause a bit trouble in...

Really pleased - for utterly selfish reasons - that you continue to reap the benefits of scratching a very particular itch for a very particular sort of consumer.

Command, control, victory through thought, implementation and decision-making rather than twitch skillz. Please, please keep it coming!

Re: unit experience

My 2p worth from a campaign perspective: 5-star Soviet rocket artillery, with its 100% accuracy and rapid fire, is terrifying. 5-star defending units get a 20% defensive bonus compared to the 50% offensive bonus for 5-star attacking units. I'll leave that out there. Personally,, i quite like the pro...

Kudos once again to the scenario design team! From a learning perspecti...

Re: Postcards from the OstFront - a General-Level AAR

10th July 1944 After a few alarms and local difficulties in the last 72 hours or so, the situation facing 10 Panzer and accompanying elements on the front either side of the Lithuanian border appears to be somewhat closer to something we would consider "manageable" if not exactly "comfortable"; the ...

Re: Panzer Corps 2 - Spanish Civil War || Dev Diary #2

Some very insightful contributions here, which I've enjoyed reading. However, as the game is ostensibly a battalion / regimental unit scale affair (I think?), going for full on historical accuracy would see the Germans in increasing logistical difficulties by late '43 / early '44 with replacements e...

Re: What's up with me - I only want to be Germans!

I agree with the OP's sentiments, although for me the lure isn't the sexiness of the vehicles (although they are indeed sexy, Panther and Butcher Bird I'm looking at you).....it's the lure of beating history. All those "what if's". All those "Lost Victories" as Von Manstein's book is so aptly titled...
