Re: Newbie Getting TRASHED!!

My tip would be to encircle the enemy as often as possible. The general idea is to encircle some units, suppress them, finish them off, encircle some more units...and so on. Situations where the enemy can recover after your attack should generally be avoided, unless you're doing a preemptive strike....

Re: Commendation Points (CP)

BTW - this highlights what I see as one of the few FUNDAMENTAL problems with PC2. I don't see any point (other than flavor) to captured equipment. Experience (and the new medals) are simply too valuable to be bothered with a unit that you won't be able to keep repaired. What do you mean? Captured e...

Re: Finland without Finnish?!?

I'm a fan of Crusader Kings 2 , and that is the default complaint about Crusader Kings 2 . Never mind that the game came out 13 years ago ( ? ) , and all that DLC represents 13 years of effort , 13 years of Paradox supporting their game. !3 years of Paradox giving the games fans what they ask...

Re: Aircraft flying range

Should this be calculated from the airfield they are based on, instead of the hex they are based on? Seems very annoying when auto return to base moves a low speed aircraft to the opposite side of the airfield it is positioned on not being able to air strike something it attacked on the previous tu...

Re: Campaign Path Branches: Like or dislike?

It's probably going to need a full on campaign split like Grand Campaign East and West to be properly done justice. Can you make them into completely separate campaigns? In other words, 1941 West is one campaign, 1941 East is another, 1942 West is the third, 1942 East is the fourth, etc. This way p...

Re: Campaign Path Branches: Like or dislike?

With all of the discussion regarding current and future DLC/campaign design, I was curious what most of you think about one aspect. Do you like it when there is a branch in the campaign? If yes, always, or only in certain circumstances? I don't like it, but I know how to change campaign script to g...

Re: Finished AO 1939

As someone who completed both chapters, I would be curious to hear your thoughts on difficulty. Especially Spanish difficulty, 1939 reduced difficulty, and what direction you think the future should go. Right now, I'm mostly of the mind that making the content as accessible as possible is the best ...

Re: DLC Roadmap?

The "Italians" had a good number of troops in Russia [Operation Barbarossa]… so what historically happened to them???. If they continued after Italy surrendered to the Allies in 1943... then why could you not maintain a separate "Italian" core until at least they historically were no longer a funct...

Re: Spanish civil war: Heavy guns ?

The 203mm you get in scenarios 1+2 is WW2 vintage. 13 of them actually existed at the time of SCW...and we stole them all! *cue evil laughter* The same applies to the 122mm and 152mm guns - the game designers have mixed up some modernized WW1 122/152 guns with much more modern WW2 guns... Yeah, tho...

Re: Spanish civil war: Heavy guns ?

Hello, playing on the default difficulty setting, I am in the middle of the Ebro defence, overpowered by the heavy 152 mm of the republicans. I managed to capture enough to field one of these, but I wish that the Condor legion had the foresight to have brought something heavier than the 105 mm... I...

Ok thanks for that info - not as good as being able to attack a tank or a fort with a half dozen Stukas like in OoB or Blitzkrieg however
Half a dozen Stukas would be difficult to field anyway, they are not exactly cheap and require fighters to babysit them.

Re: PzC2 - New Player - Why no multiple air attcks

In order to attack a ground target you have to place aircraft into the same hex. Multiple attacks are possible with certain heroes (double move or double attack).

Re: Big Bzura

I've split my forces into 3 groups: one (inf + arty + tank) went north east on my side of the river and blocked the two crossings there, the rest were split roughly in half to form two more groups that defended the two southern crossings. After repelling the attack, western group pushed towards Kutn...

Re: Campaign Generator

But taking it to the next step of random scenarios that attach to each other to form a campaign... that's a bit more work. A lot of extra balance and featured needed for skirmish campaigns to feel properly campaign-like. And even after that, skirmish campaigns won't really be a campaign replacement...

Re: AO 1939 scn tree is VERY controversial

Too little change is it's own problem though. It's why people complain about annual game franchises that crank out $70 games every year, and they barely change at all, but publishers want full AAA price for basically the same product all over again. https://www.pcgamer.com/madden-nfl-21-has-one-of-...

Once you started a campaign can you turn it off? Or is it only at the start that you can do this?
Only at the start. You can use console code at any time though.

Re: AO 1939 scn tree is VERY controversial

While it's great to hear that you recognize all the new features, even potentially too many new features, probably the most consistent, repeated piece of negative feedback is that the game 'changes graphics but gameplay is too similar'. Fighting that perception is an ongoing battle. Isn't gam...

For the main campaign there's a "turn limit" option in advanced options that you can uncheck. It's not there for either of Axis Operations though.

Re: AO 1939 scn tree is VERY controversial

While I certainly understand this position, I kind of feel that thinking is what got us here in the first place. Almost every WW2 game out there boils down to the biggest and most important events. Poland, Dday, Stalingrad, Kursk. If that's what we focused on... well here comes the complaints of th...
