Re: Please let Panzer Corps 2 live up to the untapped potential of the Grand Campaign

...The Grand Campaign was the first example of this type of game where your briefing officer took on a more human character, rather than just a generic, faceless general, Field Marshall Haberman had a distinctive character and was quite a likable fellow. ... Nice post, Monkspider. I've played the G...

Please let Panzer Corps 2 live up to the untapped potential of the Grand Campaign

Panzer Corps 2 has managed to build an impressive fan base, even among more casual gamers on places like Steam, where it has attracted fans outside of the traditional hardcore wargame demographic. We are on the cusp of a new round of DLC releases that will help determine Panzer Corps 2's future traj...

Re: captured units

I think the game could stand to be more generous with captured units. I like the idea of being able to capture ANYTHING, Pokemon style, but I think the default should be getting double what you "capture" at least. Otherwise, it is just too hard to field a unit for more than a battle just due to attr...

Re: A KV-2 vs a completely suppressed Panther

KV-2 didn't have a very good anti-tank gun for dealing with even Panzer IIIs or IVs. I imagine it would have extreme difficulty piercing the armor of a Panther, so I think the game was pretty historically accurate actually. It was a beast of a tank though and very good at dealing with infantry empla...

Re: Fall Weiss Scenario

I think these scenarios are designed more from a gameplay perspective more than a historical accuracy perspective. Poland had a pretty killer airforce during the campaign too, and a respectable armored corps to boot! Those 7TP tanks are no joke! I think they didn't want Poland to be a total pushover...

Man, How is the Soundtrack to this Game So Good?

One thing I haven't seen enough players give praise to is the amazing soundtrack. That one Russian song (you all know which one I'm talking about) is straight FIRE. And then that slightly whimsical song that sometimes plays during the Western theatre battles? So catchy! Its rare that a video game's ...

Re: Anticlimactic?

The debriefings of old are pretty much missed by none. No one needs to see 'you won' written in three different degrees of positivity at the end of every single scenario. This, plus the requirement to 'lose' scenarios to progress to certain branches also being cut really tore the guts out of the te...

Has anyone made a German Empire flag mod?

I was interested in replacing the fictitious German flag in the game with the tricolor German Empire flag. Has anyone created such a thing or know where it could be downloaded? Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Been Away From the Game for a While: How Has OOB progressed?

Hey guys, I was really big into OOB for a while, playing it on the release date and beating both campaigns multiple times. I was a little bit annoyed at certain aspects of the game like the faction perks (can't remember the name, but choosing Bushido or Banzai Charges, that sort of thing) being real...

Re: ETA next patch?

I have noticed the devs haven't been as active in commenting lately. Hopefully a new patch is around the corner. It is surprising there wasn't a hotfix for the pop-up issues. I remember the devs were super active, fixing issues left and right. I remember how they even coded an option to turn off the...

Re: Does experience affect air combat much? At all?

That said, that's a really, really, really, REALLY subtle effect. The cost of replacements to get that air unit to full experience is MASSIVE and it buys you going from 2+ 3 to 3 2+? That's very weak. Half the time you'll end up with the same result. The effect needs to be tweaked upwards significa...

Re: Does experience affect air combat much? At all?

Hmm, good question! I had felt since the beginning that experience and leaders are more bland and less meaningful than Panzer Corps. That would be disappointing if it was totally pointless in air combat. Anecdotally, I seem to remember my high experience BB of the same class doing more damage than l...

Wilkommen! Guten Tag! Mein Deutsche ist nicht so gut, so I will try this in both English and German, maybe the both combined will help. My German is probably worse than your English though! Re: How to deal with subs?

I agree with this! So do I. First of all, the "perimeter movement" where going maximum range will cause the boat to surface needs to go. Replace it with manual survace/dive mechanics (which the player will amost never use). Instead, have moving the full range disable the torpedo attack. Next, the s...

Re: Fantastic game - here's my first impressions

Some folks have reported the resource-point-stingyness in the US campaign dissipates eventually, but I must've missed that somehow. I think in NewGeorgia I did ok and even got beyond 1000 prestige at some point, which was when I purchased my first real tank. Then I took some losses and got little m...

Re: My Review of the Various Specializations

I found Bushido to be the best of those Japanese specializations, get completely op when combined with Defensive Doctrine. Art of Pulling is back in OoB:P, and it stronger than ever. OoB:P AI's wet dream is to cut off your supply lines, and like the PzC AI it doesn't look beyond the current turn. I...

Re: My Review of the Various Specializations

Yeah, Tiger tanks are bugged based on the number of people who have had issues with them. They worked okay for me on my playthrough luckily. SimCC: That is a good point about using Tokyo Express to support a small marine landing, I hadn't considered that. I can see how that could be handy. I will ch...

Re: How to deal with subs?

... Fortunately subs do very little damage ... Yet air launched torpedoes do impressive damage, the sort I'd like to see submarines do. On the subject of ASW, why is it that depth charges have the same range as some torpedoes? I wish the devs could rework submarines. Maybe a trade off where the tor...

My Review of the Various Specializations

One of my favorite features when I first started playing was the specialization system. It is still one of my favorites but after playing more, I have recognized certain significant issues in its implementation. Specifically, many specializations are of almost no consequence. In this thread I will l...

Re: China DLC

One other possibility I thought about is to portray the war up to late 1941 (ending in a possible Chinese surrender) and then be able to import that core into the main campaign. Maybe it could be like the 42-43 West DLC in Panzer Corps where you can only import a small handful of units, but it would...
