Re: Need some GS v4.0 final version testers

* Supply rules are changed. Limited supply on island, North Africa and the Middle East. Now you only get supply Level 1 here unless adjacent to a supply Source. Added supply depot that provides supply Level 2. Shown as triangles on the map. Supply depots can't be railed to. Minor Power Capitals pro...

Re: AAR 4.0c Morris Axis vs Max Allies

The pictures are not working.

It's been a while since I saw the Soviet surrender in CEAW. It will be interesting to see how much Supermax can do with the Western Allies before the end-date.

Re: Plaid (Axis) vs Morris (Allies) GS 4.0 game

It's interesting that the Axis controls most of the map and has a very high PP income, yet the strategic situation looks very bad for the Axis. Morris used the potential of 1942-activated SU and all-powerful Western Allied airforce very well.

Re: Plaid (Axis) vs Morris (Allies) GS 4.0 game

Yeah, this isn't an usual game in any way. I mean, how often do you see Vichy France, Axis-controlled Spain/Portugal and Axis-controlled ME at the same time? Besides, when the SU enters the war in 1942, it's a whole new ball game.

Re: flybird(Axis)v Duncan(Allies)

That was brutal :D. It was good to see an another 4.0 game. Generally speaking, recent AARs have been very interesting and I'm eager to read more of them. It seems reasonable to put a "soft" cap on cavalry the same way it works in case of MECs and MOTs. However, besides that, I think that ...

Re: Plaid (Axis) vs Morris (Allies) GS 4.0 game

What a meat-grinder. Your biggest problems seem to be lack of air superiority in Western Europe and a bit too thin frontline in the East. However, since you control most of the map, your PP income is high. Maybe with a few turns of respite you will be able to repair your air units and build some add...

You seem to control two Persian hexes. Won't the SU join the Allies now?

Re: flybirda(Axis)vCarlos(Allies)

The game seems more fresh for some reason. Maybe it's because a bit stronger Axis in the early game opens up more strategies. IMO it's good that the Allied player needs to be more careful now, so let's wait for more data before changing anything.

Re: AAR 4.0c Morris Axis vs Max Allies

This looks good for the Axis. How high are the Red Army's casualties? Where is Supermax's main defence line in the East?

Looks like an interesting game. I'm not sure whether I ever saw a combination of Vichy+invasion of Spain+invasion of Egypt.

Re: GS v4.0 paratrooper issues

Personally, I don't see anything broken with airborne units dropping on empty city hexes. If you prohibit that then you're saying that an unoccupied city is stronger than one occupied by a 2-step garrison or an air unit. In the latter case the airborne unit could drop adjacent to the city, attack a...

Re: GS v4.0 paratrooper issues

BTW if PARAs are prohibited from landing in city and resource hexes, then I guess that they will still be able to take these hexes if they land in a nearby hex and destroy the unit garrisoning the city/resource hex? In such case it would be better NOT to garrison the hex than to garrison it and this...

Re: GS v4.0 paratrooper issues

2. Should landing in a ZOC of enemy air units give extra losses to the paradropping unit? One would imagine that the enemy air unit would intercept the air units flying the paras when they get close to the airbase. Thus losses would be quite high trying to land near an enemy airbase. I support this...

Re: AAR : Supermax (Axis ) vs Morris (Allies)

Vokt, Supermax was talking about *cheating* in that post, i.e. about the players who reload over and over again in order to get perfect results. This has NOTHING to do with PARAs or other real or imaginary game issues.

Re: AAR : Supermax (Axis ) vs Morris (Allies)

You can only have a very limited number of PARAs (although I have no idea why you convert GARs into PARAs instead of simply building PARAs), they take many turns to be built and you need to meet several requirements to perform para-drops, so I don't think that it's a major issue. Besides, PARAs are ...

Re: Duncan vs Supermax 4.0 charlie (no Supermax please)

I think that nothing is happening in Eastern Europe and that when the time comes, Supermax will withdraw to avoid taking too high casualties too early. Time is now the most crucial resource for the Allies. It's almost 1944 and they don't control GB, the NA or Spain. Lots of things to do. As for the ...

It seems that fortune really favours the bold, because so far you have had much luck with the weather :).

Interesting to see the Royal Navy near the coastline so early. Maybe you could ambush that CV with subs and finish it with FTRs?

Re: Duncan vs Supermax 4.0 charlie (no Supermax please)

What is the in-game date? I'm really curious about the Eastern Front in this game. One good thing is that you managed to keep North Ireland. Scotland will inevitably fall, but North Ireland is your natural beachhead and a glimmer of hope. Defend it well. You may also consider attacking Ireland in or...
