Re: Would you use an understrength prototype?

I am on team Adiekmann and Snake here. All of this can, of course, be gamed through cheats for those that want to and I like the ability to play the way you want to play aspect of the different prototypes, captured equipment (Invading France with an entire tank force of T-26s and a KV for example!) ...

Re: Heroes assignment

I am pretty sure I read that they are all predetermined at the start of a campaign. For DLCs I would assume that these are set for each DLC rather than a core that you may import. That is, importing the same core into two runs of 1939 from SCW would get you a different set of heroes.

Re: DLC 1941 East ideation

Sorry, it was not meant to be a critique as I think there are some great suggestions given and I appreciate the work that has gone into the list. I just wanted to remind people of other theatres of operations they could choose from. I am no expert on this period of the war but have really enjoyed ex...

Re: DLC 1941 East ideation

While this has some great ideas for the War in the East (and North), what about the Germans in North Africa and the invasions of Greece and Yugoslavia?

Field Marshall gets you the first two DLCs as well but I have not done the math to see if there is a discount for bundling them now.

Re: DLC 1940 Prediction Forum Game

Very impressed with all of this. Not only did you encourage the speculation but it seems you were influenced by all of it as well. Thanks for the detailed responses to each suggestion. Sad that my Italians in the Alps didn't work out and what you had in mind sounded interesting but the Channel Islan...

Re: What we'd like to see in DLC AO40 and 41...

I for one would like to see a pole for future directions of the DLCs. Do we want to see an AO41 next, or do we want to see an Afrika Corps, or Allied Operations next. Each could also include poles for what we would like to see in each of these options. I would like to see an option to play an Africa...

Re: DLC 1940 Prediction Forum Game

You may be right, I don't have any specific knowledge about Kursk. When they did use Ultra info they did indeed try to find other plausible ways to have found out the information (ie sending a patrol plane to 'discover' a wolf pack forming up to attack a convoy). They did pass on Rommel's battle pla...

Re: DLC 1940 Prediction Forum Game

Retributarr "KURSK!!!"... What kind of Tank-Battle???: It was referred to as 'The Largest Tank Battle' based mostly on the number of Tanks that were involved... not as to what conditions they were involved in. This 'Brody' encounter that is mentioned... had actually more Tanks involved. According to...

Re: What we'd like to see in DLC AO40 and 41...

I am going for the 2 Italian options. Perhaps I have too many fond memories of the CVT in Spain but it would be interesting to see how they fared a few years on and before they get outclassed in North Africa! So my 2C Italians in the Alps and 5E PanzerCro's Italians in the Balkans (Would be happy to...

How about a scenario focusing on the Italian invasion of France (Battle of the Alps). Like Forbach you command the Italians with none of your core troops. It could add a new feature of the risk of death by frostbite!

I like lots of these options, but is this not what mods are for? I think we need to keep the DLCs to the main protagonists.

Re: AO 1939 scn tree is VERY controversial

While not the Emu wars, there are a couple of things from Australia that may amuse folks. First the Australian Army had to hire civilian sharp shooters a few years ago to cull Kangaroos that were overrunning the Puckapunyal training base in Victoria. Seems odd, as I thought that infantry were sharp ...

The best alternative history are the books Fatherland by Robert Harris with Germany and the US (under President Joe Kennedy) in a Cold War and Len Deighton's SS-GB (UK under German occupation). The movie and BBC TV series, respectively, are worth watching if you prefer. I have not seen nor read the ...

Re: SCW - Madrid rocks :)

Kerensky, I am curious did you ever contemplate running this like the other scenarios, that is with only the high level AI orders? While it is great to have control of them, it would be interesting to see just how crazy it could get without such control!

In Teruel with v1.01.05 the Spanish cavalry do not attack when ordered to. I have run several turns and the cavalry just sit there!

[EDIT] all fixed, turned out to be a cache issue as a result of the update.

In a save game of SCW there is no longer combat predictions moving units, either aircraft when you hover over a land unit or go adjacent to an enemy air units or a land unit when you go to move.

While I think the number of I-16s is good for SCW as these should be special units and not the majority of your force.

Re: Panzer Corps 2 - Axis Operations DLCs announced

The SCW DLC is nothing like the single scenario in PG3D. It is a very challenging and and exciting campaign and well worth the money. As stated earlier it is Panzer Corps and while playing as the Nazis is never palatable, the developers have put a great deal of time and energy into making this as hi...

Re: Axis Operations FAQ and Tips

The importance of the Italian auxiliary forces cannot be overstated. As Kerensky stated, in SCW these troops are beasts compared to what they are later in WW2. I used a combination of Italian cavalry and artillery in my campaigns, they were so important I tended to forget they were not core units an...
