Re: Littl Wars IV - Results

Ancients Karvon - Huns (Western) 375 AD w German Horse Tribe allies defeated angusosborne - Samnites with Gauls 63 - 46. Despite fighting amidst a large number of trees and rough patches, the Huns managed to encircle, shoot-up and see off enough of the Samnites to eek out a win. The Samnite veterans...

Re: Field of Glory II - The Divisional Championships (TDC)-Rules

Rerolls have been part of TDC, and its predecessor DL, from the beginning and not likely to be dropped anytime soon. Some randomly generated maps are simply unplayable or unbalanced in favor of one army. Historically, it was very difficult to force an opponent to fight. Campaign narratives are fille...

Here's a link to the 12 season army records.

The Digital League was the forerunner of TDC organized and run by stockwellpete. When he decided to close down, a number of us took up his mantle and setup TDC.

Re: How to deal with cavalry (both for & against)

If you check the old Digital League forums, you can find the data for armies used. Naturally, not all were used, and a few more dlcs were released after DL closed down, but it's probably the only such collection of data.

Re: Command Structure

You can't assign a SG to a light command as he is the leader of his own. Lights in a light command can only be rallied by the CiC ae he can freely join any unit in the army. You can assign lights to any other command, which is morel common in mixed commands. Lights in mixed commands can be rallied b...

Re: Command Structure

It really depends on the army and how many light commands the computer kindly/unkindly gives me. You can have anywhere from 5-7 command groups, depending on the generosity of the computer. If I don't have a lot of lights, I often dump all of them into one command, then use the spare light commands f...

Re: Field of Glory II - The Divisional Championships (TDC)-Rules

This is something which has been discussed by coordinators at some length in the past. The consensus is it is better to give players ample time to complete games at a leisurely pace and/or to accommodate real life demands on time. As noted by several, the Slitherene tournament time schedule is not l...

Re: How to deal with cavalry (both for & against)

I typically operate cavalry in 2-3 lines. I usually keep generals in the last line and use them to rally disrupted or fragmented units which have been driven back through the ranks or fallen back behind the first ones. You do need to be careful with generals attached to horse, as they can pursue way...

Re: In the Footsteps of Hannibal

Part 8 in our series finds us facing off vs the Romans in hills of Southern Italy. 8. Yet another hill battle. The Romans once more arrayed themselves in very hilly country behind a deep stream in an attempt to reduce the threat of our mounted forces. A deep stream wound its way across the center o...

Re: Additional Generals

Unless playing very small battles, each side is allotted 4 generals. After purchasing and moving on to deployment, the AI will assign some generals at random and create some initial commands. Often they will not assign all of the available ones, so you will usually have one, sometimes two, you can a...

Re: How to deal with cavalry (both for & against)

Cavalry armies rely on mobility to shift the opponent out of position and then concentrate on weaker portions of the enemy line or isolated units. This ability decreases in direct proportion to the rough and difficult terrain on a field. If you can't easily redeploy, it's much, much easier for the e...

Re: Littl Wars IV - Challenges

Please do not post games as ranked games. ATM, there are no provisions for rerolling games and if you reroll a game, the dropped game will count as a loss.
