Re: Advice on how best to use terrain
Another iPad player here - thanks for the info! What effect do hills have? No special effect. They give one less basic entrenchment, but the initiative cap is higher - 5 instead of 2 (forest) or 1 (city). So if you need to place a tank or AT unit in close terrain, hills will have less limiting effe...

Re: Unit types hard to distinguish
Thanks for the tips about the silhouettes. I used to know these things back when I played Panzer General, but have become accustomed to easier UIs. I think with a few tweaks Panzer Corps could be made a lot more accessible to newcomers, whether they are "casual" or not. Changing colors fr...

Re: A reflection on the quality of German armor
FWIW I never thought late war German armor is too weak, rather I had trouble initially with those 39/40 types. But you get used to it. Re SPAT, with Elefant, Jagdpanther, Jagdtiger there are IMO more than enough very strong models available, to boost the lighter Hetzer and StuG types much more woul...

Re: Love it or Hate it? Panzer General "Pop-Up" Battle
I just love the fact that someone found my 2+ year old post!! I'm actually still all for the pop-ups. I understand it slowed down the play, but that was part of it. The interaction of the 2 circles, and the destruction animation, added to my game play. It also heightened the suspense of the combat ...

Re: Custom and Advanced Difficulty Settings
Reform Units - This is a cheat that has now been given a place in the UI. If one of your units is destroyed, it will return to your unit reserve with zero strength. You then have until the end of the scenario to reinforce it back up to at least 1 strength so it will carry over into the next scenari...

Re: Quick questions
Hi, I have some quick questions: 1) How can I change the keyboard shortcut for End Turn? Alt-E doesn't feel natural; I'd rather use ctrl-return or even ctrl-E. Not possible ingame, but if it helps, there is a free program you can use to remap keys, Autohotkey. It has nothing to do with Panzer Corps...

Re: Special Heroes: Hans Rudel
My bigger issue with this is that with SE units, captured units and now free special units I feel like the game is taking the core bulding process in its own hands. My thoughts exactly. I updated the game in the middle of 1941 and have just disbanded (mid-scenario, so as not to get the prestige) al...

Re: Grand Campaign Unit Revisions (GC45West, Mar 4 2013)
Borsook: it's all explained in the extremely detailed manual and is hard to sum up. It allows Panzer IIF to become a recon unit in 1942. When war progresses, medium tanks receive upgraded cannons (more Attack). StuG AT guns are rather expensive at the beginning - and very cheap in later years, Tiger...

Re: Panzer Corps goes Greenlight
I bought numerous, mostly indie, games on Steam and I am always amazed how many people whine that some atypical, very idiosyncratic game they bought - like FTL or Gratuitous Space Battles - is crap and has no 3D and is crap and has crap graphics and is too tough and complicated and is crap... And t...

Re: Panzer Corps goes Greenlight
I hope the team is prepared for an onslaught of the stupid kind. I do not want to discriminate Steam users, I use it myself, but the large number of players on Steam means a lot of "quality" feedback will happen. But also a lot of sales, so... :) Hmm that implies that non wargamer persons...

Re: Grand Campaign Unit Revisions (GC44West, Feb 7 2013)
Spotted a mistake in 1943 - the Hs 129B-2 bomber availability ends in 1.1.1943 - making it impossible to purchase a new one. Other years seem to be OK.

Re: Grand Campaign Unit Revisions (GC44West, Feb 6 2013)
Bugs:
Panzer 38(t) in the tank class in 1942 East (no upgrade to Marder).
Manual, page 70 – old SA and HA values of Panzer IIC and IIF (only in the "Table of German Recon Units 1939-1942").
I have just installed the latest version, so I cannot comment on the changes. Great work, as always!

Re: Grand Campaign Unit Revisions (GC44West, Jan 16 2013)
I agree with you Scypion, Pz I and PzII were obsolete technically and for performances. However I understand that the purpose of the mod is to encourage players to use units that were commonly used in the various years of WWII, and not to have corps only made of the "high tech", high perf...

Re: Grand Campaign Unit Revisions (GC44West, Jan 16 2013)
I like the little Panzer II as it is. I tend to use it extensively at least up to mid-1941. Obviously, just like Panzer I it’s a cheap “crap” tank – but it’s what makes it useful. Enemy tanks tend to attack it, so it acts as a lure. Move of 6 make it very agile – so it can put some damage into artil...

Re: Grand Campaign Unit Revisions (GC44West, Jan 16 2013)
I spotted a tiny mistake - in 1941, Panzer IIF belongs to recon class, while Panzer IIC is still a tank. They share the PzII family, but no upgrade is possible. It only happens in 1941, I think, 1942 is unaffected. I left my previous forces at the end of 1944 and haven't yet started 1945 - constant ...

Re: Grand Campaign Unit Revisions - Update for GC42-43West
Rommel... :) My question is: when will end the extreme amount of prestige? I'm not used to it from the vanilla or the Italian campaign, where you have carefully plan what to buy/upgrade/resupply from the few prestige points. What difficulty are you playing on? Stop complaining and go down to 25%. :...

Can anyone point me to some good material on beginner strategy for Panzer Corps? Re: Grand Campaign Unit Revisions - Update for GC42-43West
Re Orlinos: In 1944, it is possible with careful play to get through with your core mostly unscathed. But 1945 is, well, an exercise in destroying your core. Good thing I have such a big core waiting to be annihilated. ;-) The reason why Budapest44 is so hard is because of the bad weather, which no...

Re: Grand Campaign Unit Revisions - Update for GC42-43West
DLC ’44 finished! Vilna was the first map where I made mid-scenario saves. I restarted it a few times and when the things finally got going well I decided not to press my luck too much – and avoid needless repetition. And it was wise, since few turns from the save I rushed like an idiot and got squa...
