If playing the game through Steam, it has to be online in order for achievements to be unlocked. Had to replay the final scenario in the Afrika Corps campaign myself in order to unlock Italian Victory only because of this. :roll:

I downloaded the replay and loaded it in-game and it works fine for me. I archived it using WinRAR into a ZIP-file, perhaps this is what causes the problem. If so I'm happy to upload it using another format.

Tried windowed mode right now and I have also upgraded to Win 8.1, installed the latest DirectX and the problem persists. Any animation generating a smoke cloud takes 2-3 seconds to clear. All other animations run very smoothly. Maybe the firstmentioned animations are supposed to be that way eventou...

I have checked a good few of the animations over and it is more and more obvious that only the smoke animations causes the game to run in slow motion. For example air unit taking heavy casualities, ground unit destroyed, landing shells etc etc. All other animations work fine.

Hi

I just moved my PzC installation to Steam, removed the old one and, voila, the three extra difficulties is no longer accessible. Is there any means to reactivate them without having to plow through the entire grand campaign once more on FM difficulty?

The movement animations run rather smoothly save for a very short latency. The fire (and smoke from landing shells) animations, however, especially when shooting artillery, run in slow motion. Laptop power mode is set to high performance btw.

Slow animations

Hi! I have just made full Panzer Corps latest patch installation on my new laptop and the animations just runs annoyingly slow. It really ruins gameplay. Some latency time when scrolling as well. No memory/CPU consuming/heavy applications running in the background save for Steam and Mozilla Firefox....

@the opening post I think ultimately PzC borrowed the original PG mechanics a bit too literally. The game pieces represent not units as KK suggests nor individual pieces of equipment but rather an abstract combination of both. Similarly the mechanics are abstract representing neither truly tactical...
