As a final post to this topic I'd like to add that Slitherine came good and my new copy of v2 rules arrived. The new binding is much improved and I'm very happy with my replacement.

Sounds like you deployed sensibly - you had quality to his quantity so should be able to overmatch the ABs in one area. In the UK they are huge as per all in the UK, usually greater than 6MUs. I understand in other places a Gnat's Todger (note the possesive apostraphe) is of lesser size.
