Re: FOGAM3

Hi All, When you talk about modifying "skirmisher" effectiveness, does this include LH, or is it only LF? Will other troops have their speed increased if HF go to 4 MU, just to keep KN and Cataphracts one step ahead of their horsechallenged brethren? Cheers Rob P.S. is there somewhere in ...

Being back Phil!

My experience is that FoG AM at 650points is fun and fast - particularly if it is themed.

Re: FOGAM3

Maybe I've missed something but I don't see any analysis of the fundamental reasons why players have left FoGAM and started playing other rule sets and how Terry's work will 'fix' these fundamentals, resulting in those players coming back to a FoG AM or new players suddenly picking the rule set up. ...

Re: Persuers contacting fresh enemy

Initial Pursuit "Pursuers make a variable movement distance roll and adjust their move accordingly." The rules probably specify it explicitly somewhere but tabletop practice is that all files of a BG move the same distance required to maintain formation (with some specific exceptions). For...

philqw78 wrote:Can intercepts contact anybody?
No it can't. The interceptor may only position itself such that the charger will contact the interceptor. i.e. the interceptor intercepts the charger.

Re: Charging without orders.

I played Terry Shaw at The Worlds (ITC) in Virginia. He deliberately pushed half a base of MF longbowmen out of the rough going into the open to tempt my knights into a charge. Of course my Knights failed the test not to and charged. My Knight's straight ahead charge was completely in the open. Whi...

Re: Interception charge contacting other troops

So in the photo example provided above do the interceptors stop a GT short of the bowmen but still far enough forward so that the original chargers crash into them (the interceptors)?

Re: Interception charge contacting other troops

Surely it's a case of:
- an enemy charger gives your BG the reason to declare an intercept charge
- an intercept charge is a charge and all the usual rules apply about plowing into anything in its path?

Re: LF EVADE

It's one of those ambiguous Catch22 rules. Because the qualification regarding evaders starting within 1 MU of a blocking enemy not moving at all is nested as an exception rule, it implies that you must first be an evader before you can trigger that qualification. Yet if the ("starts within 1 M...

Re: LF EVADE

Digital 9-18.

LF MUST evade and if they can't clear the ennemi Def Spear with their evade move (by shifting up to a base width etc) they must stop 1 MU from the Def Spear. If the Knights catch the LF they will be caught in the rear.

Re: LF EVADE

Why couldn't the LF evade through the defensive spear? What prevented this?
