Re: GC 1941

There is a more heavily armoured in-series upgrade but can't remember when it is available. That would probably be the best if you feel you are low on prestige. Otherwise the 21cm is ok, but rate of fire is 70% compared with 80% for 17cm and the 17 has 6 ammo rather than 5. Personally I'd go for the...

The +1 ammo would be particularly useful for paras. Mine always seem to be about to run out of ammo,

Re: New Projekt: Phcas & AKRebels Mod "PAK" - RELEASE v0.037

It looks rather dangerous, and reminds me of the Blacker Bombard in that it has a very large explosive charge for a relatively portable weapon. However the range and effectiveness look a lot better than the Blacker - as you'd expect when comparing 1944 technology with 1940 technology. Do you have UK...

Re: Prestige loss in strategic bombing

According to a post by Rudankort in 2015: Efficiency is (20+10*stars)*strength/maxstrength For units with max strength 10 (almost all units), this can be simplified to Efficiency % = Strength * (2 + Stars) So a new strat bomber at 10 strength has efficiency of 10 x (2 +0) = 20% 12 strong 2* bomber h...

Re: Exaggerated AI reinforcements

Some deployments are scripted and therefore aren't dependent on AI prestige. Escape from Stalingrad is a good example, whee a group of KV1C appear, along with one of the Sicilian scenarios in the Western route where a whole US army appears. Very nasty if you are in the middle of it. I think the only ...

Re: What campaign after 1940

I agree. Sealion has some interesting challenges and is worth a go, but the other route offers a much longer path and with the contrasting options of Eastern and Western paths.

Re: Rudel.

You have to deploy recon Rudel in Minsk 41 to get fighting Rudel so unless you fancy a load of replays you've missed him if you're in 1942. While fighting Rudel is very good it's hard to see how one unit could be the difference between success and disaster, especially if you get a bit of luck on her...

Re: GC 1941

The simple answer is that your army did well but the other generals weren't as good so you were needed elsewhere. Either or that you outran your supply chain and had to fall back. If you have time, you could create a mod for consolidating Soviet union gains, driving the allies out of Italy and Afric...

Re: Anyone else missing some Soviet hero icon files?

I just checked the heroes folder. My installation is Panzercorps gold.
Soviet air 7 and Soviet Ground 10 and 11 are missing.

Maybe I need a break, but I can't help thinking that Soviet Ground 14 hero looks quite a lot like like David Bowie.

Re: Questions about Steam achievements

There seems to be something wrong with the AA experience mechanic, as it's very difficult to get experience for shooting up aircraft, which is their main purpose in life. This makes switchable AA a good choice as you get more experience in the AA role. However, it's not the only way. AA is more dest...

Re: The Good Heroes, The Bad heroes and The Ugly heroes ?

Initiative on any tac bomber without active attack (which includes all Italian, American and Russian tac bombers) is completely pointless unless you want to deter biplane fighters. Even spotting on artillery has more value.

Re: Was doing good... UNTIL CRETE (Allied Corps)

The key thing is to hold the airfields so concentrate on defensive positions centred on one or more guns. Keep the guns topped up with ammo so you can keep providing defensive fire as you can take a lot of attacks each turn and take heavy casualties if your artillery runs out of ammo. Resist the urg...

Re: Soviet Corps Bialystok-Minsk Battle

Bialstok Mnisk is definitely an easy one to get wrong, so well done for getting a triumph. Buying units without transport where you know it's likely there will be a lot of losses is a good move. 3 move is enough to be useful in difficult terrain or on defence, and on attack isn'tmuch worse than a cr...

It's a bit beyond my skills, but try posting on scenario design forum as I think others have done these. Also worth searching the forum (or try something like slitherine mod railways in google).
OK I see your point. The problem is that we have a lot of graphics with this anti tank stuff. Like Polish and German AT rifles. Thery are not used yet in the game. Does someone have an idea how to use them?
AT Rifles generally were initially a modest boost to AT capability in infan...

Re: The Good Heroes, The Bad heroes and The Ugly heroes ?

+8D makes a unit pretty hard to kill unless you play badly. The biggest danger is that you get over-optimistic and get caught and surrounded. Suddenly you run out of ammo and you are in deep trouble. Still, these kind of experiences helped make me a better player. Until that rather depressing mistak...

Re: Range.

Stug 3 with a range hero is very handy. A 3 range nebelwerfer is probably even better once the 21cm is available, although a 3 range 75 (or a 25 pounder) with loads of ammo and 110% RoF is good against soft targets and worth a try. For me a range hero on AA is better on a 7/1 AA than on an 88 (or al...
