Re: Check the latest screenshots!

It depends of the battle outcome, win, loss, draw, participating leaders may die.

Re: So What about Multiplayer?

Just keep your mind opens gents. Several betas, most being big fans of FOG2 said that they came to appreciate the Empires battle system. In PBEM, your focus will be in ruling your empire and honing your armies so they can do the tasks given to them. And on the battlefield, you'll see it's definitive...

Re: Judea is in the wrong place

We had to do a kind of twist here. We wanted to have Judea gameplay being one of a nation in exile and in rebellion against Jerusalem occupier, Antigonos. So that's why their initial region is not the correct one, because the correct one would not be owned by Judea anyway... So that said, if you pla...

Re: Coordinating movements of separate armies?

Unless you want an alternating waiting game / frantic game, then you can't have a game that spans over 500 years be that interesting. You have to do some abstraction on how the time flows... Meaning practically that when you look at how army moves and fight in empires, you should not try to map thei...

Re: The units in game are too few

Rome has admittedly fewer units to play with than others nations, as the Legion, pre-Marian includes all infantry subtypes it was made of. In FOG2 the unit will be split into hastati, principes, triarii though. Also as you gain more provinces, you'll have access to extra special units, the so called...

Re: Field of Glory: Empires Dev Diary #9 Battle System

it's based on losses, not only on duels and fights won. The more losses you inflict on enemy units, the better, with some extra bonuses from losses gained through flanking. Once you switch to pursuit phase, then you inflict extra losses depending of the speed and flanking capabilities of your own un...

Re: Field of Glory: Empires Dev Diary #9 Battle System

Not for now, sorry. If there is a large demand, then it might be considered, but development will not be trivial. Also it asks for the solving of several issues, like what others players do when you are slugging out with your buddy in the tactical battle. Are you doing your tactical match in one go ...

Re: Field of Glory: Empires Dev Diary #9 Battle System

Judea might probably become hilly anytime soon :) Phoenicia is already hilly. As for merging Mare Nostrum, nothing is set in stone, but combining FOG2 and Empires was also much more easier on several accounts. Just know that there is no 'position of principle' here. One book has been written, not th...

Re: It is possible to move popultation from one region to another?

Slaves market move slaves around, but you don't need to have one in a region for the transfer to operate. And it is somehow smart in its distribution. You should try it!

Re: Campaign features you'd like to see in FoG:Empires

If by "FOG II campaign battles" you mean Empires, then I need to point out that Empires is a full standalone game with great features and not a glorified campaign simulator for the excellent FOG2 :D

Re: AI on the campaign map

I think the AI in Empires is better (on things that it handles, Pride of Nations was just a monster game) than the one of older Ageod games. It is more focused somehow. Also in Empires, fleets can be assembled without the need of transport ships, so AI sea invasions are much more common. AI also lik...

Re: Defensive realms

I would suggest then you try Dacia, which is semi-isolated (less than others nations, but still) and have a custom set of 4 defensive buildings to help them. Steppes Nomads, like Sarmatians, Skythians, Sakas have a custom feature where they have a 'herd' that can move on its own from a region to ano...

Re: Field of Glory: Empires Unveiled!

Correct on both accounts, you can have pseudo-historical armies, if say your Gallic empire manages to reach Africa and recruit elephants. And all units will appear in FOG2 if they are in Empires, DLC or not.

Re: Field of Glory: Empires Dev Diary #6 - Culture and Decadence

@Haircuts: Revolts come from a loss of regional loyalty mostly. But regional loyalty is heavily influenced by the status of your nation and if the regions are assimilated or still resistant to changes. So by pushing hard toward Syria, the Seleucids AI had gained a lot of regions rapidly, which is ge...

Re: (Army) tech advancement

Phalanx don't get an improved version, they are stuck with the unit archetype the game starts with. Heavy infantries get an improved version. Legions get two improved generations. Plus Phalanx, although powerful, fare badly in difficult terrain and are useless in city assaults, so they are not indom...
