Re: (WIP) Allied Airborne Campaign

hello all, after learning more about what I can and cannot mod when it comes to OOB, I have decided to instead release my six scenarios as stand alone missions, and if I can learn more on my end about how to better design a campaign and work with the game more, I will make a full campaign. These sta...

Re: (WIP) Allied Airborne Campaign

Those are some of the more famous commanders popularized by the media. Of course I can simply go down the list and add division generals like Mathew Ridgeway and Fredrick Browning, but if any of you have some ideas let me know! How's about General James Maurice Gavin, the "Jumping General", 82nd Ai...

Re: (WIP) Allied Airborne Campaign

It should be possible to realize your other ideas with the units file. I want to take all American Infantry rooster and make them all Airborne. FYI, the paradrop mechanic works with the infantry class only. The other classes have to be spawned in air transports and land on airports. That is a damn ...

Re: (WIP) Allied Airborne Campaign

Something I neglected to mention was Commanders! Since this is such a short campaign, I want players to achieve secondaries in order to unlock commanders mid-scenario, but I do not know who exactly to feature! Here are a candidates.... 1. Robert Cole - 101st Airborne - If you played the 2005 Brother...

Re: (WIP) Allied Airborne Campaign

. Perhaps battalion sized units? Battalion should work well for airborne. I think a half-a-klik scale? would be good. better check the doctrine for Airborne Battalion frontage so your map scale will work out. Battalion level should work well with the scale of the operations, I just hope there are e...

Re: (WIP) Allied Airborne Campaign

Nice idea and I welcome every new project. But, some pointers from me: - AFAIK you can not change/mod infantry models and/or their textures - you can (probably) re-use faction-specific specs with another nations (e.g. I guess the "PAK-Front" should work for everybody) and "unlocking" new units into...

Re: Night Phoenix's Grand Campaigns

Awesome to see someone attempting such a large scale mod! I was thinking, will you be replacing hero units with commanders? I don't think OOB would allow such a powerful unit like Oleh Dir to rampage across Europe, but it would be nice to see him as a commander that maybe does a lot of Shock damage?

(WIP) Allied Airborne Campaign

Hello everyone! For a long time now I have wanted to contribute to this game with my own mod. Teaching myself the games mechanics has been a long process, but I think I am nearing the point that I will finally be able to begin my first campaign, revolving around the western allied airborne operation...

Re: Order of Battle: Red Storm has been announced

Well, subs haven't been touched, as they play not much of a role in new DLC. Do you have a specific change in mind? Thing is I kinda agree, but we need to see how any change would affect existing content (like KM). In general I think subs just need to have an entire patch devoted to them. I think a...

Re: Order of Battle: Red Storm has been announced

Will the patch that comes with the DLC also have a rework for submarines to make them more lethal and viable?

I really liked Red Fury, but it would break the Red S-word pattern. I'm with Red Storm or Red Steamroller

Will Skins be expanded onto the rest of the game?

With the recent update, we saw a major influx of units skins for a lot of vehicles. Is there any hope that the skins will be expanded upon? It would be great to have a Panzer Corps 2 kind of catalog of skins to choose from, but I would love to see skins added to Aircraft and Ships.

(Graphical Bug) (Waffen SS units missing skins) (8.4.4)

A really simple bug, the SS faction's vehicles cannot equipment any skins other than the Afrika Korps Desert skin. Should defiantly add the full catalog of Skins to the SS faction, after all they do have a skin named after them.

Re: Feel the Wheel of Steel: Red Steel Review and Discuss

Hell I don't think there's a 6th Army left to encircle with a map like that! In my first play through I fought hard in southern Stalingrad and slowly gave up the north to the Germans. Ended the scenario with the southern city under Soviet control but lost most of the northern factory VPs.

Re: DLC plans past Red Triology

Considering the brand new units added to Hungary and Romania, both countries could also host their own campaigns, but I think Hungary would be more interesting considering how fierce the fighting for country became near the end of the war. Romania could have a core follow the soviets. as for the Pol...

Re: Panzerkreig Save file bug?

Since this is my second play through, I did not get this bug the first time around. I think I'm just going to have to move on without the support of the 6th Army at Kursk. A real shame  but that is what I get for not saving manually

Panzerkreig Save file bug?

I am currently going through my second play through of Panzerkrieg, and have had a string of now game breaking bugs that may have ruined a few hours, if not days worth of progress. It started when I began saving my replays. For some reason the game always crashes when I save my replays and I am forc...

Re: Red Star Lend Lease Techs

I found that maintaining T-34's and KV tanks was simply not viable in most cases, with my tanks averaging maybe 4 or 5 lost HP. It is even worse if you want to keep your experience, the LL tanks were pretty good at punishing attacking German infantry, and baiting german tanks into AT and artillery k...

Re: Feel the Wheel of Steel: Red Steel Review and Discuss

Just finished Red Steel, and I am very happy with the DLC. Top notch scenario design from the developers. I had never known the Red Army and Navy had been maintaining a beachhead near Novorossiysk, nor how heavy the fighting was around the Kuban bridgehead. I definitely hope to the Red Navy again in...

Re: DLC plans past Red Triology

Too add to this list, has there been any thoughts to add some post WWII content to OOB? I think the game could definitely pull off some of the immediate post war conflicts, with the Korean War seeing Soviet v. Allied style armies clash, and the Arab-Israeli war of 1948 using mostly British equipment...
