Re: Panzer Corps 2 - Dev Diary #1

Sounds interesting! I just hope hose shadows are an option to turn off-- they are terrible.

Re: Air Defense in old Panzer General

It doesn't seem a valid assumption to me that TACAIR didn't actually kill a lot of tanks. Everything I've read supports that TACAIR was LETHAL to tanks-- almost legendary in fact. Along with air superiority it was a decisive advantage that was only mitigated by bad weather. I don't think it's overpo...

Re: Ideas for Panzer Corps 2

IMO the real issue is a continuous self-feeding death spiral: Player gets to field large armies where everyone is elite & overstrength---> scenario designers assume this, so the OPFOR is ALSO elite & overstrength (and in extra-huge numbers) to ensure a challenge. It just gets worse and worse. It's u...

Re: Wargamer PzC 2 first screenshots

Still, it looks much more like a PG2 remake rather than an enhanced PzC1. Don't know why, but I was expecting a mo' better version of PzC1. So I don't think we're going to be able to directly compare PzC1 to PzC2, any more than we could really compare PG1 to PG2. Similar but different games. Probabl...

Re: Wargamer PzC 2 first screenshots

First thought is that it looks a lot like PG2. Since I played a LOT of PG2 I can live with that, although wasn't crazy about the map style. Of much more concern is the "dynamic map generation" combined with a later comment: "Doing historical battles is also a potential issue due to the dynamic maps"...

A new story begins: Panzer Corps 2-- the Duke Nukem experience! Keep checking for the next 9 years or so for updates! :P

Re: I am quite pesimistic about this game...

I hear you, but we're not talking Skyrim, Total War, etc. Can't see it being a resource hog. Graphically, I would hope for something along the lines of the sneak-peeks of Unity of Command 2. Unfortunately there have been a few games that were "pretty" but sucked. By the same token, being "ugly" does...

Re: I am quite pesimistic about this game...

I've heard this argument a lot, and in this day and age don't understand it. Graphics vs. AI/gameplay is not an either/or proposition. There is no excuse for crappy graphics. I like NATO counters for games like WITE, etc. Don't think they are really ideal for a game like PC2-- nice option I guess if...

Re: I am quite pesimistic about this game...

I was optimistic to begin with, especially with the original statement that implied most of the design decisions were done/already implemented. Kind of implied they were just building scenarios, working on play balance, etc. The fact they have shown absolutely nothing to date (not even a teaser) is ...

Yep, bjgrt is right-- I had to go back and check an old saved game. Sorry for the bad info-- I hate when that happens!

Re: Military training centre build criteria

Not sure about new version, but through patched original you only had to research the technology that allowed building it-- after that you could build it anywhere/everywhere you had production capability.

Re: Polaris Sector: Lumens is out!

I've been kinda watching for some feedback, but little here and only 2 reviews (in English) on Steam. I still play Polaris once in awhile, but probably won't bother with Lumens if it's a bit underwhelming.

Re: Suggestions, wishlist and ideas for Panzer Corps 2 gamep

I would like to see some kind of change regarding replacements. On the one hand there are a lot of folks asking for more "realistic" supply rules, yet everyone just accepts the "Elite Replacement" concept. As an example, in 1944-45, just WHERE are the Germans getting ELITE replacements from?? Ditto ...

Re: A "Pacific Corps" should be made

+1! Not slamming OOB-- I bought it and just don't care for it (for reasons I have given on that forum). I too think a "Pacific Corps" is a GREAT idea that won't impact the OOB niche at all.

Yeah, but the enemy sure will... ;) I get your point though, and there's a lot of customization/settings available. It just seems to me the whole experience/overstrength mechanic is outta whack.

Re: Panzer Corps 2

The one thing I would like to see changed is the whole "experience"/overstrength mechanic. It seems way overpowered, basically ignores attrition, and creates as many problems as it solves. The player often has hordes of 15-strength units later in the campaign-- which is totally unrealistic. There wa...

Re: Polaris Sector 1.04c Patch

I've only played three games with the new official patch, but the AI fuel cheat (specifically, "Corvettes of Doom" in the early game) hasn't shown up so it would appear you have well and truly squashed it! Huzzah! :D There are always minor little things in any game but I am having fun tweaking this ...

Re: Been in 1.04b beta for over a month...

They are not saying this is a Beta (not yet, at least). Big difference between an official patch and a beta. Beta's are "use at your own risk" affairs-- official patches not so much. At least they are not SUPPOSED to be. ;)
