Re: Consultation: Patching the naval game

this is good news :D i only have a comment about the last proposal, imo there should be 4 scenario's (instead of the 3 you proposed now). 1) is the neutral scenario, where germany receives convoys, its the status quo of turn 1. 2) the scenario which triggers the convoys to stop, when england moves o...

Re: Vom Auflösung: Scrap both CP Battle Fleets!

Try this in multiplayer however and you'll see French battleships pound your two value 6 coastal cities and any garrison inside, and possibly Entente landings too. I like all the ideas for making the naval war aspect more interesting and historical, but naval power is actually quite useful as is. I...

Re: A proposal for an Historical Mod

but they did use the big bertha heavy caliber gun to take down the fortresses of liege and antwerp. imo the first gun available to the germans should be a railway gun and it should be as effective as is now. you are right that you dont need artillery to conquer belgium and make some good headway in...

Re: Playing the AI not an option

I have just won my last two games against the AI on "privileged" quite comfortably, once as the Central Powers, the other time as the Entente. I started playing in about the middle of November, I think - so it has taken me about 6 weeks to really get to grips with the game. Seeing that I can hardly...

Re: Cruisers are to strong in port range?

well that would be fine, currently however you cant get much further than the 4th horizontal line from the left before going into the red. dots. +this map doesnt show the german subs who operated near the usa.

Re: The Role of Sea Power in the Great War?

millions of usa troops? its not ww2 :P there apparantly also was a succesful naval campaign of the brits in the baltic, but it wasnt unrestricted. i think the game should give the players the option to a) do a restricted subwarfare or b) unrestricted subwarfare. the unrestricted warfare should also ...

Re: Cruisers are to strong in port range?

i suppose its fine, although the adriactic might need some reworking, what you say about the green dots on the italian coast makes sense. but also the germans subs should be able to venture way further into the atlantic, right now they cant get much further than ireland and spain :S

Re: A proposal for an Historical Mod

some good ideas, from a game balance POV, i want to add that if you decrease the lethality of artillery, with which i greatly agree, you should also lower the cost of bombarding the enemy. or greatly reduce the cost of buying increased ammo production. i guess the latter will be better if you set ev...

Re: Stranded in Russia!

I find it is quicker to disband units in the east and rebulld in the west. I will rail a handful of units west, but it takes two turns to make the trip so you average about one unit per turn, even less for the AHs. I know you do not recover all the points when you disband, but, as they say, time is...

agreed, and naval landings are also too slow. takes 3 turns to get from london to flanders... 4 if you count untill its usable for offense.

Re: Films on the Great War . . .

red baron was aweful, the blue max might be better but i still didnt like it much, flyboys is also crap. i didnt like the trench either. Lawrence of Arabia is good though, and i also liked all the kings men. However compared to movies about the ww2, the movies about ww1 are very few and of less qual...
