Ledo, sure, a good way of looking at it, I think I've only seen Macedonia take a Rome player out in my multiplayer games.

Thats the problem with Rome, need to play it cool early on and get some alliances or deals struck.

Ah right, that manpower explanation makes sense from recruiting point of view.

Although, that doesnt deal with the eternal elite units that the thread creator mentioned.

What's the reason it says in the message when you move your mouse over the Pirate ship icon? I wouldn't rely on traits for commanders to add in game mechanics as the quality of commanders can be quite random.

I do find the supply of ships unnecessarily fiddley, although that might be the games aim?

From a game perspective it makes life easier but immersion wise it makes little sense to me. Surely my army would be in the province and not just give up the territory they had been fighting over? So, I attack an independent region, have fought 2 rounds of combat against the garrison and then a AI faction moves I to the province, I assume they beat the garrison and then takes the province. Now, as a game mechanic I think that's not a particularly enjoyable way to deal with this situation but ...

Morbio, sadly that isn't happening and I doubt it ever will.

Sure, I get people go away etc, I recently did, 2-3 weeks but if you set it to auto kick them at 20 turns that would probably give them 15-20 days at the fastest speed.

I can and will most likely do that but it just feels like a poor way to end a game, i.e. it didnt end, I just stopped playing, especially when you play 100+ turns. It feels a bit unfinished to me.

Of interest, without an active player do the games still play or do they end?

I was correct, out of the 14 players in that game, 10 are idle, now, I think after 20 or so turns of idle a players should be permanently kicked from the game as it creates an unrealistic view of how many people are playing.

I think when you look at the game in the various rooms in the multiplayer area it tells you who is idle and who isn't, I'm playing a game with 14 players but the turns are turning around far too fast, I think it's more like 4 active players.

In multiplayer games I wouldn't recommend a turn limit greater than 3 days, 48 hours seems like a good compromise.

No, that player will never be kicked, they will just be tagged as idle. After a few turns of idle I think the game will auto end the turn once all non idle players have done their turn, I.e. it won't wait the entire 7 days. My orginial issue is that even though they get tagged as idle they never lea...
