Re: Wolfpacks - how to knock out escort ships?
torpedoes just seem to do too little damage. As someone requested in another posting, the random damage for torps needs to be something like 1-3 damage.

Re: Kriegsmarine Sea Raiders typo
I works to decoy the battleships with one group, who get pounded, then sneak another group by along the western coast. You lose a lot of ships and subs. I ignored the secondary objectives as impossible. even so I had to cheat to turn 42 to get 4 off, then found out it was 3 battleships. Just dont se...

Kriegsmarine Sea Raiders typo
Big typo in the sceanario objectives. Apparently we must destroy 3 battleships, not 2 as stated? Cost me the mission not noticing

Re: Fall Weiss+Weserübung+Fall Gelb= Blitzkrieg 1939-40
I agree about Den Haag. I pretty much stopped playing the campaign at this point it seemed so unbalanced. The paras have absolutely no chance of survival.

Fletch: I am willing to play all three rules sets, and swing between them as needed for you to balance the numbers. All in 15mm, as that is what I own. My first choice is FoG:AM, second is FoG:N, third is FoG:R. I will sort out my army lists and send them to you shortly. Marc ** Would some nice FoG...

Re: A couple of questions about Dacians
I find the falxmen hold up very well considering how cheap they are, and you can have a big Sarmation contingent that is very useful against Romans. Ditto, I have found the same. The superior falxmen in 8's can take care of themselves allowing the dacians to put all their commanders with the weaker...

Re: How do you beat a max mounted army?
terrain is key to keep a mounted army away from you, but it does make for a very boring game. I've seen several games by good players be declared a draw as both were not prepared to give it a go due to terrain. The scoring system rewards draws with too high a score (10). Go with a scoring system th...

Re: FOGR at Fall-In 2013
Bob S & I are thinking of bringing 25mm, No promises because I have a lot of painting to do in a week, but I would have Italian Wars French about 1525, Bob Caroline Imperial. I assume this is the Determined Foot Speedway with 40mm MUs? Perfect armies to bring, any figs you short of? we may be a...

Re: Winners Atrittion
As a part time player who dabbled in few HMGS tournaments I'd say time is the major factor. 12 hour days for 3 rounds is just too much. I want a HOBBY, not a full time job when I go to Cons. Double games help with the longer format it that you can walk away & leave your partner in charge for 15 ...

Re: Scythed Chariots
I'd say yes, they would be matched. Chariot stables were raising, training and racing chariots for sporting events long after their battlefield use was over. Where else would these speciality trained horse teams come from? You cant really just take any cavalry mount or cart horse and team it up 3-4 ...

Very close 10 pts to 12. If that Legion hadn't rallied from Broken... Ok, the archer & artillery fetish is over. Rolling fives vs armored foot just blows. If anyone cares the Dacian 800 pt list: IC 2 x TC 3 x 8 Falxmen 2 x10 Javelinmen 2 x 8 Bowmen 6 LF Skirmisher Bows Captured Balista Lt Art 4 ...

Re: 2nd V2 Game: Romans vs Dacians
"The Dacian plan was to disrupt the Romans with missle fire and follow up with the falxmen. It didn't work" If you hadn't rolled up 2 on both of the impetuous legionary chargers at the same time there would have been more shooting and a chance to catch a legion unsupported with falxmen. We...

Re: Errata to go in Errata V1.10
I think the rule for captured artillery should just be changed so that it is simply destroyed (Optionally: at the choice of the attacker or if captured by any but shot or P&S). We are trying to create a special case for an event that happened but one or 2 times in the entire renaissance period. ...

Yes, MF in the open is a problem -- just don't lose! (yeah, right...). I found an IC & rear support very useful for the inevitable tests for seeing friends rout. At least when they run they usually outdistance HF.

Re: Barbarian Effectiveness
Dacian with a Sarmatian ally seem to be the way to go. Painting more Falxmen right now. The superior falxmen are down a point at impact, but evens in melee. The trick is to get them into contact with Romans who are already disrupted, perhaps by the javelinmen who are evens at impact. I haven't quite...

thanks, I always go 3 deep myself. Just thought there might have been some self supporting V2 rule for being 3 deep or something.
