Re: Southern League 'Way of The Warriors' June 5th
It looks as though I'll be able to come, but I may be bringing Koreans rather than Buccaneers - need to work on lists over the weekend.

Re: Southern League 'Way of The Warriors' June 5th
Quick question (in case I can make it) - are there any restrictions on superior/elite for foot and mounted (as there were for Campaign)?

Could you add me to the "possible" list? I probably won't know until a couple of days before whether I will be available that weekend.

Re: MKWS Campaign 2016 - Final details
I would just like to add my thanks to Don and Will for all their efforts, and also to all of my opponents for putting up with my tactical ineptitude.
But please, no more cracks about me borrowing Clive's dice! They were my own and (mostly) just as bad as his

Re: Army balance in competitions
Just adding my 2p on the suggestion of raising the AP for comps from 800 to 900. Whilst I can understand the desire of established players to get lots of toys out on the table, it could have an adverse effect on encouraging new players to take part, particularly when combined with fairly tight theme...

Re: When is an advance an advance?
Fair enough smarty pants, so make it 90 degrees and now what's your answer? More likely scruffy knickers as it happens, but my answer would have been the same as all the others so far - the measurement of the advance is from the front edge of the BG at the point when the advance is made. You...

Re: When is an advance an advance?
A 2x2cav BG turns 180 degrees and makes an advance of a maximum of 3 MUs (5Mus minus 2 MUs) straight ahead. From which point is the 3MU distance measured: A. From the original front edge of the BG (now the rear edge, following the 180 degree turn), or B. From the new front edge? Similarly, to which...

Another example - Breitenfeld 1631. The Swedish cavalry captured Tilly's guns and they were then crewed and used against the tercios.

Well, there is some evidence from cave paintings of rudimentary shields being used, so perhaps some (the clubmen?) being Protected.philqw78 wrote:Why would anyone bother with a longbow when nobody had armour?

Yes - a big thanks to Marc and everyone else involved with the organisation.
Congrats to France B and to Ian for his pool win.
Thanks also to my opponents for some great games, even the ones I lost. If only the gods of the dice hadn't turned against me in my last game versus Bob....

Re: Announcement: Derby Teams 28th and 29th September 2013
I'm sure Gordon and Dave S will join me in horror at the suggestion that we might finish in 8th place. If there were 8 teams, maybe, but with 12 teams I think we are being placed above 4 teams too many.

Eques - the ink is used as the wash. I've also used grey ink over white base to get a good white effect. Depending on the brand of ink, you may need to water it down.

Re: Dice
I prefer normal dice without symbols on the 6 or the 1, but I can live with symbols. Also confusing are Burton and District Wargames Club dice with "BAD" on the 6. You would think that would be the 1. Conversely, the old Society of Ancients dice had the SOA logo on the 1. So every time yo...

Well done for avoiding to mention those crudely named fictional crewmen of Captain Pugwash haharrrrr Arrrr, be you meaning the good Cap'n himself, Master Mate, Barnabas, Willy and Tom the Cabin Boy? Or be you a-telling of the urban myth that they did be Master Bates, Seaman Staines and Roger the Ca...

Phil - shouldn't those be split up into Division 1 and "the rest"? For "the rest", shouldn't they then be split up and ranked according to their Sunday pooling?
