They were made of Iron or in some cases wood but the wood ones were tightly wrapped down its entire length with rope so unless your mini has rope modeled on the fig I'd paint it iron.

if you're looking at a 28mm figure and can't tell what it is? then it's either a crap paint job or your opponent has conducted an awkward morph... I was thinking more along the lines of something like hoplites could be either MF or HF and your opponent not being able to tell which they are rather t...

Suggestions on basing 25/28mm HF that doesn't fit.

As many people have found out 25mm scale HF rarely fits very well on the standard base sizes. Since I can't cram the figures on the standard base size would most people prefer 4 figures to a 30mm deep base or 3 figures to a standard size base? Which option would you prefer your enemy to be using? Wh...

I've never heard of Pentacon but I only live about 2 hours from Fort Wayne. Is Pentacon large/small? Does it have a lot of historicals?

I played using a 2"MU on a 9'X6.5' table How tall are you again? The thought of playing on an almost 2 m deep table makes my back hurt already. I'm 6'3". It didn't seem anyone had any problems with reach. Sometimes we'd walk around to the other side of the table when our troops got far enou...

I use the Cav in this army as rear support rather than going out on the attack. This gives the superior legions an even better chance to hold with the +cohesion bonus. Then when the enemy inevitably moves to flank the legions I move the cav out a little to protect the flanks from any charge. This me...

That looks like a pretty good list to me. I personally like some MF because of their speed and ability in terrain a lot more than I care about shooting. Maybe you've had more luck than me but I've never been able to get a group of skirmishers to actually do any real damage with shooting and with arm...

Personally I would definitely keep two cavalry units, forget the LH and if you need to skirmish put your cavalry in a line. My LRR army which seems to work out well is: IC TCX2 Fort. Camp Superior Legion X4 Superior Legion X4 Superior Legion X4 Superior Legion X4 Superior Legion X4 Armored Sup Cav X...

4) I would think this would be like the Orb formation in FOG and allow the player to form up on any edge.

I don't know if there are any manufacturers that make lead free minis. I think you'd have to make sure you keep them out of reach from the children.

Wow 22 BG's! I'd love to see how this army works out. You'd have loads of firepower but I would think all that unprotected foot would suffer greatly from getting shot themselves not to mention 3 generals would have their hand full trying to keep up the cohesion for this many BGs.

Another question, the armor I see many of the longbowmen wearing, an example would be the center archer on pg 8 of Storm of Arrows, what is that linen colored stuff made out of. Is it some type of cloth armor.

What color Vallejo paints do you use for English Longbow?

I've noticed in the pictures of English longbow troops I've seen painted the bows always look almost white and was wondering if anyone had some advice on what colors I should use to paint these.

I don't have the Empire of the Dragon book yet so it was interesting for me to get to see what kind of troops the Japanese would get. Very different than the usual troop types out there. Bow* armed HF heavy weapon troops sound awesome. They would definitely give those annoying shooty cav armies fits...
