Re: Erik's campaigns

Hi Erik, Another round of awesome campaigns. It is because of you my OOB game time is up to 4911 hours. I can't tell you how grateful I am for making what I think is the best game out even better. Someday I'm going to hunt you down in Norway to express my thanks in person. So now I'm doing Africa Co...

Re: Erik's campaigns

You are the best. Thanks to you, I now have 4600 hours in OOB play time. I'm supposed to be producing a magazine and working on an online Harvard grad School course, but get tempted to play my second time through the whole German campaign.

Re: Erik's campaigns

Wacht am Rhein. Another good campaign thanks to Erik, and as he says, we owe thanks to the Panzer Corps folks. I have found a number of minor errors that do not affect game play much, such as victory conditions not recognized. But the big one is scenario 8, Widening, that always ends on turn one end...

Re: Erik's campaigns

Hi Gabe, Your solution was almost the same as mine. Paratroopers take northern airbase and then cutoff rod supply, which is what kills them in the end. One of my aircraft was a bomber that I could also use to remove 3 point supply sources. The rest of the army, after that brutal panzer attack, moved...

Desert Rats Medenine

Hi players, Desert Rats, there are some great scenarios in there. I love game play that makes you think carefully about how to use armor, air, supply, and even infantry. One I have trouble with is Medenine. If anyone has won it in 20 turns, at normal settings, tell me how. I used the editor to set i...

Re: Erik's campaigns

Desert Rats is a great campaign, but First Bardia still has problems. There is no air or navy deploy allowed, and only 3 points for land units (until you take a resource point). The Aussies alone cannot win.

OOB cannot load on Steam

As of yesterday, possibly after Mac High Sierra update 10.13.5 I could not open Order of Battle on Steam on my Mac. I tried on both my iMac and Mac Powerbook (High Sierra OS) and got the same result as shown in the attached file, a message that the game is damaged or incomplete. The solution to this...

Re: Erik's campaigns

Erik's work has been one of the best things that has happened to me in a long time. As a result, my OOB play time has gone over 3000 hours! I wish there was some better way we could thank him.

Re: Erik's campaigns

Hi Erik, As you know, I am totally in love with your campaigns. I consider your work better than many of the official downloadable campaigns. You offer more ways to vary strategy, where some of the official ones do not. The US Navy Campaign v.1.1 is also superb. Let me point out a few errors I've en...

Re: Erik's Singleplayer scenarios

Just tried two of Erik's new Malaysia scenarios, and once again, he has shown his genius. Kota Bharu and Muar both show how you can beat an overwhelming superior force with strategic retreats and little bit of sneakiness. Like all the best OOB scenarios, you are not forced into one particular strate...

Re: When is the next DLC out?

While you are waiting for the next DLC to come out, you might consider playing some of the Custom scenarios and campaigns that are available for OOB WWII. And some are even better than the DLCs. Erik Nygaard's in particular. Some have bugs or balance problems, but the game play design shows genius....

Re: Germany Grand Campaign

@Gabeknight, Erik: This is so cool. Awesome. All hail Erik. I am a super Erik fan. I like his scenarios better than some of the OOB DLCs. I found Panzerkrieg in particular tends to force you into one particular strategy sometimes. Not Erik's offered him money, presents, etc, but he hasn't...

Re: Bru's Scenarios

Hi Bru,

I haven't played the Oahu update but in the first version it was quite easy to win by falling back and sending units up the flanks and cutting the main Japanese army off from supply. They did not leave any troops in the north to protect their supply lines.

Re: Erik's Campaigns

Hi Erik Campaign fans, I found a couple problems in scenario branches. One I could solve. One I could not. 1) Philippines Campaign (April 1 2017 version) FIXED The game could not open the 4 San Jose campaign and would crash after 3 Tayug. Opening data.cmp with a text editor showed the Jose with the ...

Re: Erik's Campaigns

Hi Erik, It took me forever to get my login to work, but I have been wanting to write you and thank you from the bottom of my heart for designing those awesome scenarios and campaigns. They have given me so many more hours with my no. 1 favorite game. Are these beta for future DLC? Anyway, whatever ...
