What about modability? Star Hammer was great game but in terms of replayability it was waste of money (only my humble opinion). Will the devs unlock resources for modding? SH was written on Unity so I doubt it is a problem. Only compare Distant Worlds and Star Hammer subforums: the flourishing game ...

The game is not dead. It is flourishing! In this game you - can not mod ship configs, weapon turrets parameters; - can not add new ship models or replace the existing (hello Star Wars and WH40k mods!); - can not play MP, even hotsit; - can not create new scenarios. As I can see Polaris Sector is a remake of an old strategy Remember Tomorrow released in 1998. Unfortunately it was never translated into English and only old russian gamers remember it. Now classic RT is distributed for free. You can download it from softwarware.com

I would agree with you if it were a human player. But let's be honest, the AI doesn't think like you and me ;). I share the same feelings and I think there should be "spheres of influence" in the game and a diplomatic option like "remove your units from my territory". For now I play all my games on...

I think you are not able to build a city in the ocean like in SMAC without modding colon...

Sorry for necroposting but how to increase city territory radius up to 6 or 9 tiles for example? I want to limit the number of colonies by 2 per faction (1-initial colonizer, 2-colonization fervor tech) but increase the territory of a city.

Well its like the old days of pandora modding, you mostly sit and change various settings to see the results :D Thanks for info btw :) Not at all. I think it will be great if some day the developers add the option to let a player to choose between "arctic", "desert" or "tropical" worlds in the star...

I found the solution. For example, you want to generate tropical world. You should edit Tropical.xml: latitudePeak="0.0" latitudeRange="1.0" Now the tropical ecoregions will be from equator to the poles. To exclude other regiones from the world generating process you should edit appropriate features...

Yes, I tried. Regions are still created but they look like black hexes without grass/trees/etc. textures.
