Re: Artillery is Rather Broken

The ultimate example of this is the 1 range StuG and Brummar artillery types. They are so short ranged, they're sort of not even artillery anymore. They provide support fire for sure, but the inability to fire over a hex and needing to be in limited real estate adjacent hexes really hurts them. I n...

Re: German Kavallerie

But there is a downside to horses as well, they require care and feeding, and it was practice during the war to send the horses to the rear to rehabilitate. When the pocket formed around the 6th army, it had no horses, they were sent west to rehabilitate. They could not move the artillery, ammuniti...

Re: NATO Icons

Having and using NATO unit symbols would defeat the purpose of this game even existing. I can't understand why anyoe would want to do such a thing. Because reading a map is more easy than direct terrain and ennemies, every general would tell you that. Reading terrain and reporting ennemies is not t...

Re: List of Hero attributes

• OverwhelmingAttack, "Always forces enemy units to retreat." • Envelopment, "Prevents enemy units from retreating, so they surrender instead." Makes me wonder what would happen if you combined these two in one unit. Would they contradict each other (must retreat, can't retreat, nothing happens), o...

Re: Favourite units so far?

Note: It is not historic to get a selfpropelled prototype AT unit in june 1941 based on a AA gun that will be developed in 1942. Only after the encounter with T34 and KV1 did Germany decide to rush build some AT units and those were the Marders. A prototype Marder at Kiev is reasonable, a Sturer Em...

Re: NATO Icons

I think there is a place for NATO-counters in the right game, but this isn't really one of them. When you look at something like the Hearts of Iron series, I'll always prefer to play with counters. You are operating on a strategic level, you send around divisions (and before the last game even corps...

Re: German Arty doesn't provide direct support against a tank attack?

Ammo is re-supply at the beginning of each turn unless you are encircled or something so thats not a valid point So, you do realize that artillery uses up ammo each time it shoots in support fire, right? So, since guns have limited ammunition, you can run it out on terrible support shots and then m...

Re: Initial reactions

Hopefully, future DLC will extend the German Grand Campaign for the Balkans, and Case Blau. No Fall Blau? And no Sevastopol either then I assume? What happens with the player campaign in 1942 then? These missions are in the game. You get Kharkov, Sevastopol, Case Blue and then it is off into Stalin...

Re: Game wont play (Steam)

I've googled it, and it looks like this video card only supported DirectX 9, while Unreal Engine 4 requires DirectX 11. So, it does look like this card cannot run the game. I'm really sorry. I kind of expected that.... Can you please tell me where you found that information? It appears DX11 is inst...

Re: For Goodness Sake Release the Game

I don't really see what the problem is supposed to be. - Why wouldn't they emphasize the 3D engine early on? It's one of the key features and much easier to show off than gameplay, which might not even have been finalized at that time. - Putting beta testers under NDA is a no-brainer, everyone does ...

Re: New Projekt: Phcas & AKRebels Mod "PAK" - RELEASE v0.38

I agree some subs should be able to attack land targets when surfaced,. They probably should be quite weak agaiinst hard targets, but maybe with fortkiller as it's a bit easier to take on buildings and harbour installations. A former neighbour used to work on an antisubmarine shore battery in the e...

Re: Twin-engine fighters

There definately weren't more twin-engines fighters produced on either side than single-engines ones. Not early on, not late during the war. Adding bombers into the mix brings the numbers a bit closer, but that's not really something that matters much when talking about single or twin-engine fighter...

Re: GC 1941

The Grand Campaign basically follows historic events. Therefore Stalingrad would obviously get a whole lot more attention than Moscow, as it was a real battle. The latter mission is mostly there for the fun of it. That being said, there could be plenty of fun to be had from a more interactive develop...

Re: Suggestions, wishlist and ideas for Panzer Corps 2 gameplay

Meh, TIK isn't exactly known for always going with what's true or the most realistic... First of all, the Battle of Stalingrad had nothing to do with the original operation. Thus it makes little sense to say that going with three army groups was wrong and that going with two would have been better. ...

Re: Better Italians in PzC2?

The strength of a gun or tank don't depend on what you see on paper, but on how well it can get used in the field. E.g. a tank with good armor and firepower is nice and all, but if you have a one-man turret and little radio-communication it is a whole lot weaker than a tank with weaker armor and gun...

Re: When?

JagdpanzerIV is completely right. You cannot take the average life expectancy and take that as how old people used to get, as the statistic also includes all those who died at a very young age. Once you made it past the dangerous early stage, you lived a pretty normal life. Circumstances and weaker ...

Re: Range.

Well, a range 4 artillery is really nice to take down enemy artillery that covers a defensive line. You can happily blast it away - or any AA nearby - without being in danger yourself. This is especially helpful when running into a defended river-line. You might almost always have something to shoot...

Re: Happy Death Day to PzC for Mac

Catalina has managed to to keep actual software that is from an Apple subsidiary from working, and not just old versions, but actually the newest one.

Neither Mojave nor Catalina have been particularly good. High Sierra worked better and was more reliable.
