Re: Happy Death Day to PzC for Mac

Catalina has managed to to keep actual software that is from an Apple subsidiary from working, and not just old versions, but actually the newest one.

Neither Mojave nor Catalina have been particularly good. High Sierra worked better and was more reliable.

Re: Better Italians in PzC2?

I think a less generic (for a lack of better word) setup for all he Axis minors would be helpful. Apart from the African campaign, which obviously has a lot of choices in terms of Italian units, you mostly get a bunch of token units whenever your allies appear. They either have just the basics (Inf,...

Re: Battlefield: Europe MOD v2.0

On the other hand, there is a possibility to buy extra units (for example fighters) at turn 2-3. You just have to figure it out, how and pay the price for it (not just prestige)! ;) There is? I never knew about that, interesting  " it tries to simulate history as far as it is possible" --> s...

Re: Battlefield: Europe MOD v2.0

Why would there be? The mod follows Barbarossa and the events that followed. Not everything needs to be open. At the point in time at which the mod starts, Vichy France had already been established and things worked pretty well for Germany. Why would they even think about taking over southern France...

Re: NATO Symbols Option?

I guess it would seem rather tough to implement in such a game. The counter only tell you about generic unit-forms, and sizes, not what is actually out there. It could be quite a helpful tool in the strategic map though, to easily see what is where, instead of just having small dots. If you can enla...

Re: PzC Future?

There have been lots of years with new content, and plenty of patches. That seems a whole lot more of an effort spend on the game than you would normally see. Eventually moving on to a successor isn't the same as "killing the game", it is in fact the norm. Of course people won't just suddenly stop p...

Re: Ilovlya DLC42: Missing KV1-C ?

Different people look at a map and see different things. I remember comparing a Goose_2 play-though of Prokhorovka with my play-though, and wondered if we fought the same battle, our strategies were so different. True. And I guess it can be quite hard to do things differently as well. Once you've g...

Re: Ideas for Panzer Corps 2

Not sure if this has already been mentioned somewhere, but it would be nice if the game had better mod-support, as in: mods can be put into a specific mod-folder and you can choose at the start which version of the game to load, instead of having to rely on GME or having to use multiple copies of th...

Re: Ilovlya DLC42: Missing KV1-C ?

Trigger: Number of AI units in zone 30 is equal to 0 This is interesting but how do you kill all units in "zone 30" while having time to spawn the KV1-C and without ending the scenario? As soon as I kill all units there I get a "Decisive Victory" and the scenario ends. How about sending some units ...

Re: are they the same?

They are two seperate scenerarios sharing the same map. If you take the Rush to Moscow one you have the easier path, because the Soviets haven't managed to setup up defenses and dig in yet. Haven't played them in ages, but I think there were less units arounds. The weather should be better as well. ...

Well, air-losses tend to be all over the place depending on which source you look at  "L'action de l'armée de l'air en 1939-1940 : facteurs structurels et conjoncturels d'une défaite" from Philippe Garraud, an in-depth look at France's performances in the air until the armistice, comes up with ...

Re: Panzer Corps 2 - Dev Diary #10

It refers specifically to PzC, not PG, so it is factually correct. This game claims to be “the spiritual successor to the Panzer General series” in many official places including Steam. Part of being someone's successor is remembering their victories and losses. A good successor does not ask for ap...

Re: Battlefield: Europe MOD v2.0

I had some ideas about possible German reinforcements that I had tested on my local version of the mod: 1) Send reinforcements to North Africa if and when Malta has been captured, to represent the improved supply-situation. I think I had a Pz IV, one (mot) infantry, one Sturmpanzer II and either a P...

In fact, the Ju 188 was only marginally better than the Ju 88 so I would not want to increase its stats more, as it was not very successful. Well, it was basically just one of the many different developments out of the Ju 88, being based on the Ju 88 B. The only real reason why it was named Ju 188 ...

Re: 21 cm artillery

I actually like to have a mix. In my most recent playthrough of the GC, I went with two 15cm, one 17cm and one 21cm artillery among "normal" artillery. Plus a whole lot of more mobile stuff. One thing I do find a bit confusing (and I changed that for myself) is the different range-values between uni...

Re: Suggestions, wishlist and ideas for Panzer Corps 2 gameplay

I don't think the changes made are making AT less attractive. Overrun only works against weak units, not just against everything. Not to mention that AT now gives supporting fire against tanks, which should be rather helpful. One thing that would be kind of interesting, and some mods kind of did thi...

Re: Panzer Corps 2 - Dev Diary #9

Churchill had a way of speaking in absolutes that glosses over a lot of the nuance. US involvement no doubt was a huge relief to him, but even without that all scenarios are bad for Germany. Germany vs. British Empire Alone (no Russian invasion): This scenario is the most favorable to Germany, but ...

They cannot commit to anything - not even 2025. So I conclude that it's a pet project at Slitherine and has no real budget. Well, what surprised me a bit is that additional new games were announced in the meantime... sure, you need some sort of project pipeline… but well, let’s maybe finish some he...

Re: Panzer Corps 2

I'm not sure you've fully mastered the PzC artillery system. There are already two excellent reasons not to go with the biggest guns- namely the bigger sizes have a lower rate of fire, which means the maximum possible deaths / suppression is lower, and they also have low ammo. Furthermore, I'm puzz...

Re: Panzer Corps 2

One thing that I would like to see is a different approach to artillery. At this point, using Germany as an example, you go with bigger and bigger artillery, even if that is kind of excessive. You start with 10.5cm guns, move to 15cm, on to 17cm and then to 21cm mortars, and it doesn't really make s...
