Terrain Selection V2

Hi All, V2 page 148 top left says "A large piece counts as 2 selections and as 2 towards the maximum of that type." Does this mean that I cannot have a large terrain piece as a non-compulsory option if there is only 1 available, or remaining in the selection process? It seems to read that way and it...

Re: Rome -- June 2019

Hi Dave......and the Australian (in Germany) too? I hope you will bring V3 and the new lists to Ferdi's in August. If we can, i'd like to run through a game of it with you....or Phil. Ihave been told you will both be there. Rome might be interesting if I can align the money and family factors correc...

Hamburg Heerlager III (Army Camp III), FoG AM Tournament 27th-28th- October-2018 UNFORTUNATELY WE HAVE TO CANCEL THIS EVENT THIS YEAR DUE TO A COMBINATION OF VENUE AND PARTICIPANT NUMBERS ISSUES - many apologies to any who are interested. We hope to hold the Hamburg Heerlager III next year if the o...

Re: FoG:AM v3 Lost Lists

Hi Nik, The list looks interesting, but sadly "lost". Do you really mean that the core troop MF can throw javelins? Usually in FoG (I haven't seen 3 yet) only LF and LH shoot with Javelins. But you are consistent with this in ht eAllies list too. If we allow MF to throw javelins, in V2 they cannot u...

Re: My Field of Glory Pet Hates

Hi All,
OK, I hate strange jargon on a forum when it is read by people from a variety of cultures - What exactly is a bennyhill?? (I know the comedian)

Re: News

Hi All,
I've just been playing around with the V3 Builder - Is it correct that Allied commanders are now cheaper Insp.70, Field 40 and Troop 20? Or is there a mistake?
Cheers

Re: Elephants and Scythed Chariots in ambush

LOL! - We can't see the elephant in the room? Is there any historical record of this happening? Not complaining - just curious. Oh - Can I place my camp in an "ambush" if the terrain is located close enough to the rear edge?? Could be an interesting subtlety with 2 other ambush markers in place wher...

Khurasan Koreans

Hi All, A fellow gamer and I are interested in the Khurasan 15mm 3 Kingdoms Korean range, but are nervous about squeezing their cataphracts 4 to a base. Does anyone know if this is possible? Experience preferred. Their site is temporarily closed so they can catch up with orders, so I can't ask them ...

Re: Can Intercept Occur?

I have had another look at my photo example. If we take the LH away, the first contact by the Mtd. Xbow in their ZOI could be the friendly knights. If so, then no intercept can be delcared or declared - is that right? - no wheel and no contraction allowed. The photo looks like a very close call to m...

Re: Can Intercept Occur?

Thanks for the responses and help everyone. The terminology problem we had at the time is that "interpenetrations" is only used for friendly troops in the rules, so the final sentence in dot point 7 pg. 67 was not conclusive. The dot point Phil refers to is not totally clear and requires an understa...

Hi Phil,
What about allowing HF to do a turn instead of pursuing, if the pursuit VMD fails to keep them in contact with the broken enemy?

Re: MOVEMENT

Hi All,
Is it intended to slow down a battle line of HF or MF, with LF as part of a battle line, by not allowing the double move because of the LF?

Berthier - Do you mean that the only way for LH to double move is when it is "battle lined" with non-skirmishers?

Cheers

Re: MOVEMENT

Hi All, Are you considering having different Commander movement according to the troop type of commander? For example LHCom 7, Cav Com 5, Knight Com and HF Com 4 and so on...? Dave - I have this weird idea that the game is based on history, so taking all Cav is not my thing where having discreet tro...

Re: MOVEMENT

The LH double move restricts the LH to the speed of the slower mounted battle troops to which they must be "battlelined" with. Yet another cut to add to the death of the Mongols and their ilk. It also forces armies such as Mongols to form battlegroups with the CAV to get up some speed thus limiting ...

Re: FOGAM3

Thanks everyone, as I said, I am blind. I spent a lot of time looking at different lists and failed to see that the CinC can be either of command types thus making a 4th TC possible. ANOTHER POINT RE. FoG3 - I have fallen in love with a range of figures for an army in Empires of the Dragon that has ...

Re: FOGAM3

Hi All, When you talk about modifying "skirmisher" effectiveness, does this include LH, or is it only LF? Will other troops have their speed increased if HF go to 4 MU, just to keep KN and Cataphracts one step ahead of their horsechallenged brethren? Cheers Rob P.S. is there somewhere in the rules(a...
