Yes, the total number of heroes allowed should be limited by the number of cities/enhancements we have.
Like you I play a minimum roleplay, I dislike spamming heroes.

With the last patches, it's rather Necron is Easy (moreover for the AI), that's why you should try the reverse if you want more difficulty.

So it should be up and down arrow keys. With mouse it's scrolling on middle button.
But nope, zoom is not tied to keys (or maybe with shift, ctrl or alt?): up and down are y-axis on the map, not z-axis.

Then try on Medium, the Necrons wipes its neighbourghs (easily IG) and invades the map,
but you may still be right as I never finished a game, as I was sure they would wipe me next.

- AI will now be more aggressive when fighting other factions. This might slightly weaken them in FFA scenarios but should be more fun to play against. That's the way. A perfect AI is only fun for its dev, the player wants to be able to win. A game AI must be given flaws, for different difficulties...

AM are worthless for the first 10 turns, because their starting units are badly underpowered.
