Re: Bialystok-Minsk_Soviet Corps Campaign

I watched my replay (field marshal) of that scenario from 3.5 years ago and while I lost one of my pathetic fighters and a new infantry, I didn't think it was too bad, although it was a major escalation in enemy numbers as I ended up destroying 56 units after only 29 in the Winter War and only 55 at...

Re: Bialystok-Minsk_Soviet Corps Campaign

The biggest issue is a lack of experience. Even though you are given numerous auxiliary units in that scenario, they all have zero experience while all the German units start at 100 and so, get a +1 to initiative, attack, and defense. The Soviet fighters are not nearly as good the German ones and wi...

Re: Bold comparison: PzC vs Chess

I'd say that there is much more depth in PC because the units have many more abilities and the maps are much bigger. It is a simple matter of the number of unit types, their abilities, and the map size. The number of available permutations are much larger. Overall, this is a silly comparison. Actual...

Re: Bonus difficulties for the DLC´s?

Of course, if you want to play the advanced levels without using a cheat code or completing one of the campaigns with a DV, simply play with the custom settings that correspond to them. +50 AI Prestige and -5 Turns to play Guderian, Patton, or Konev level; +50 AI prestige and +5 Unit Strength for Ma...

Re: Traps

Not sure what difficulty setting you use, but note that it is much easier to trap AI units when playing at 'General' level or above as the AI is more aggressive at AI Level 2 and will often leave a well-entrenched, hard to attack, artillery and AA backed position to attack a 'bait' unit whereas at l...

Re: Combat calculation

Rudankort, I apologize, as I know you are busy with many things, but I wanted to clarify things and will try to be brief. I see what you're saying, I agree and was not trying to malign the calculations/testing involved. I'm aware that 2 examples does not a statistical distribution make and only show...

Re: Combat calculation

After looking at some of the Combat Logs from PC2, it does appear that it will only roll as many times as necessary to get the max kills. For example, a 10 strength plane attacking with a 50% kill rate against a 2 strength plane may roll 10 times, if necessary, but will more likely only roll 3-5 tim...

Re: Combat calculation

I'm also confused with this as the 'logic' Rudankort describes is NOT the way it worked in PC1. As he describes it, a 10 strength unit attacking a 5 strength unit will have a hit chance probability curve that is truncated/maxed at 5 kills as the defender can only lose 5 units. However, in PC1, a 10 ...

Given my previous comment, I will say I do like the new partial move and unload feature for transports.

Re: Panzer Corps 2 - New Advisor Clips series

I'm sorry, but isn't it a bit excessive that one unit can wipe out four with overrun on one turn? So, I'm assuming then, that the AI enemy will always outnumber your forces by a minimum of at least 10 to one in all scenarios in order to counter this so when you line up the 'checkers' as shown in the...

Re: [SPOILER] US Corps capturables

There aren't many in US Corps, but those I know of are listed on the first sheet of the Excel file I've listed numerous times before (you can sort by campaign).

Actually, I just did a quick look at the spreadsheet I posted a while back, and Pete referred to in his post, which contains the original equipment file. See below.

Re: Elite US Paras in Panzer Corps US Corps

It's because the SE Airborne is available on the same date in 1941 as the regular Airborne unit and is a slightly better (+1 HA) version. The upgraded regular US Airborne 43 version becomes available on 1/1/43 but there is no comparable upgrade to a '43 version for the SE Airborne, hence it stays a ...

That's true as long as you use the game generated core and don't import your own from earlier.

Of course, if you really want to use it, you could simple delete the '0' from the equipment file.

Re: sIG 33 II (Sf) - GC 1942?

It isn't a typo or bug, the availability date is correct. However, if you look in the 'Theatre' column you will see a '0' which means it is only available in the African Theatre and so you can only purchase it after that date if you are playing Afrika Korps. It is not available in the vanilla or gra...

Re: Vanilla Campaign Army Size per Scenerio

Yep, version VIIIc was the last version I did. Apparently, nobody found anything new as far as items to add (heroes, etc.) or mistakes, so I haven't updated it since.

P.S. Nice of you to keep bringing it to people's attention, Pete. Thanks.

Re: Are GC East 44 & 45 includeded in GC 39-45?

Yes it is, they should both be listed with the other 8 campaigns included in GC 39-45 package. They should be found in the folder marked 'Classified' on the right side of the screen you reach after you click 'New Game' on the main screen and where you select which campaign to play. If you have purch...

Re: Soviet Corps.

I haven't played it all, but just received a third SE (KV-1C) unit at the beginning of Korsun-Cherkassy Pocket. I've got one about every 5 missions or so (the Pocket is the 16th). The others were before Smolensk (T-34/40) and 2nd Kharkov (mountain infantry). However, I disbanded the infantry as a 0 ...
