Re: Special Forces Going on Observation Post

I think the idea is that you cease any remaining activities for the turn upon setting up an OP. It's not necessary. Not logical that you can call airstrike and snipe b4 setting up OP, but cannot do reverse. I also want SF to be able to snipe while in OP. Instead of forcing me to move one hex, snipe...

Re: Can't ANYBODY offer strategy tips???

Ideally, you'll want a (spaced) wall of 3 FOB running north to south, as far east as practicable. Why 3? 'Cause you've only got 3 Arty units. Why east? To intercept the taliban army which come on screen when the americans pull out. Don't promote all ANA units to commandos. SF cannot ambush, which sh...

Musa Qala bugs

Seem to have discovered 2 bugs. Firstly, the Clear Taliban from area objective cannot be accomplished. Couldn't find any despite using drone all over the place, and Intel reports 0 units. Secondly, coalition failed to pull out on turn 45. Supposed to have been automatic, but since it didn't happen, ...

Re: Can't ANYBODY offer strategy tips???

The early missions where there is no handover objective are easy. There are 3 core steps: 1. Connect villages to roads. 2. If waterworks break, repair ASAP. 3. Use SF to OP wall around villages. This way, you'll see the enemy if they try to approach any villages. When they appear, prosecute with Apa...

Re: Beautiful game, but a bit too easy

@orso You're incorrect. Intel reports exact numbers of militia and taliban present anywhere on the map. And it's 100% accurate. (Not realistic, but this is only a game after all.) I only visit villages when I have an airstrike available, or a few free apache units. There's no point knowing where the...

Re: Beautiful game, but a bit too easy

@orso You've not mentioned anything about locating spawn points. That's my key strategy point. You're having problems because you let militia run around. Camp their spawn points and whack them moles when they pop their heads. Don't visit villages as soon as you see smoke. If Intel tells you that a m...

Re: MI-8 Swallowed by Maintenance Yard

Use the left/right button in the center top to cycle to that missing unit.
When selected, move it out of the FOB. It will be "invisible".
Move the invisible unit back into the FOB, and that should fix the bug.

Re: Battle of Lashkar Gah Problem

Congrats. I've only encountered that particular bug once. Probably because I don't get my vehicles damaged. lol I moved it back into a FOB and the problem worked itself out. In the campaign missions (6 so far), once I gain control of the situation around turn 15, it becomes a walk in the park. I'd b...

Re: AMAZING GAME! plus a question and bug report

I agree.
With the MOAB update, I've not encountered any mission or game breaking bugs.
Just minor annoyances.

Re: Battle of Lashkar Gah Problem

It's weird. Ever since I bought this game from Steam, with the MOAB update, I've never encountered a mission or game breaking bug. I've had minor problems, like: a) sometimes can't drop MOAB b) repaired unit not visible on main map c) convoyed units having shortened movement ranges d) unit moves bac...

smaller units, so they have much less firepower They are not elite. Light infantry were usually the best of the line infantry made loose, they were not small units (nor big), and they were the more endurant, smart, and sharpshooter. The early tepo are 'light infantry' mainly for they are small.. th...

Re: Battle of Lashkar Gah Problem

Were you always running the latest version?
If you were running an earlier version, I suggest restarting the mission.
Or maybe you just need to move both supply trucks out, then move them in to register.
After that, you can move in and out freely.

Re: Battle of Lashkar Gah Problem

I've completed it. You've probably not updated to the latest version. You can see your objectives in top left of screen. When you move 2 supply trucks into Alpha FOB at any point in the game, the objective will change to green text, and then disappear. In the earlier version(s), there is a bug where...

Re: about convoy and supply trucks

A couple of other things I noticed. I've gotten the impression that loaded supply trucks don't seem to move as far as empty ones. I'm wondering if that's to simulate trucks burning more fuel to haul something. I'm probably waaay off on that, but that's the impression I get sometimes. Nope. When loa...

Re: New Player Questions

What is the best way to detect enemy units when conducting a road movement? My Huskys seem to find the Talib the hard way and take a hit. Put infantry into an MRAP and then drive ahead How does this actually work? I've tried building a convoy with an MRAP followed by a Husky, but the IED blew under...

Re: Suggestions

Some additional suggestions for improving gameplay: 1. Special forces - Exit observation post or resupply from observation post. Right now, I need to move them one hex, hit resupply to get rations from FOB, move back one hex, go into observation post next turn. Total 6AP. 2. Refuel vehicles in FOB. ...

The reason I asked is that I've seen trucks with different movement ranges.
I'm thinking something goofy happens when unlinking trucks from convoy.

Is there a movement penalty for convoy?
Is there more that 1 type of supply truck with different movement ranges?

Not in this case. Currency difference of x3 is impossible unless someone badly screwed the calculator. lol
