Yes. With modern HW the costs of accessing memory are almost always higher than raw processing. DXT can give 8:1 compression or better.

They are DXT compressed. XnView will compress textures using DXT IIRC, and you can also download the nVidia DXT toolset.

For BA1 you need to add a line to the USER.TXT file in Documents/My Games/BBCBA - add the line

AllowMPHotseat 1

And then save the file and start the game.

Try the following

+ uninstall both games
+ go to the registry (run regedit from the Windows+R box). You will need to go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/WOW6432Node/Slitherine. Delete the folder for Spartan.
+ reinstall the games

Hopefully that should put everything where it should be.

IIRC the games use the registry to find one another. Have you perhaps moved one or both from their original install folders?

Each LST file adds an entry into the list. It doesn't check for duplicated LST entries, so if you enter the same LST for download it will get listed multiple times. They are cached in your SAVES folder so you can delete them from there if desired.

Ah, figured it out. You need to copy the $DEFAULT script into the mod's data/battle/scripts folder along with any edited files. Also you can't put new files in the core folder by copying the standard folder layout, I think you have to use the game's folder. Yes, global mods need to mirror the main ...

I am not sure what you mean. If you mean altering what causes the win/loss, then sure - you would just have different text for the changing victory conditions and have logic which changes how you can win. Unfortunately I am not intimately familiar with the Sanctus scripting. But you can definitely override any functionality in your own campaign or mod without breaking the main game.

You delete units in the editor using the DELETE key. I think you are correct that mixing units from various sides could well cause issues. The factions used are defined in the SIDES.TXT file IIRC. The editor controls just change the visual icon used for a given side in the battle. The editor control...

IIRC there is a single function used in most mission scripts which handles VP ownership etc. You may need to tweak the logic to whatever your desires are, and potentially set up the VPs as initially desired.
