Re: Scenario end.
A very 'mini' for sure but in a pinch every RP counts.

Re: Why did I lose?
The big question is why the final screen claims I only captured 2 of the 5 victory points when I clearly had all five. It is because the counter does not show victory points but the number of SS units destroyed. If it says 2/5, you have only destroyed 2 units, but at least 5 is needed for a victory...

Re: Scenario end.
A minor addition: You do get a bit more RPs if you go to the full number of turns. I'm not sure if that's still the case. I think there was some work done on the "scen turn limit" thingy. Well, I tried it with Trondheim (Allies Defiant) since I have a suitable save and you do get an extra 15 RPs if...

Re: Scenario end.
I have heard (i.e., read) this before. Is this true? Why would the game refund half of RPs used to repair aux units and none for core units? Yes, I've experimented with it (as have others I'm sure) and it works. I guess the idea is to motivate the player to repair aux units also to get more out of ...

Re: Scenario end.
A minor addition: You do get a bit more RPs if you go to the full number of turns. This is because you receive one extra... portion ;) of per turn RPs: say you have a 20 turn scenario, if you play all the turns, you get RPs for turn 21 also. Usually I don't bother. The Resource Points Formula seems ...

Re: BrucErik CSD Studio
The men in question belonged to the Erillinen Pataljoona 4 (Detached Battalion 4). They were in essence Long-range recon patrol men. Like the posts in the link say "they were not proper parachute units, but trained to jump if necessary". Since there were only couple of combat jumps in 1944 with a to...

Re: Winter War 1940 Beta Test
09SummaHardestDay [...] 4) Player Turn 2 - The commander and his subordinate have their good news / bad news conversation: "Uloste! (Excrement!)". Oh no, no, not like that. That's a pc word or medical term and extremely odd here. Better use "Voi perkele!" (Oh damn). To see this common word in use, ...

Re: BrucErik CSD Studio
Thanks, Gabe. :) I really love Bru's rich and versatile use of English language with the occasional humorous interludes. Very educational, too, for us non-native English speakers. I'm more the technical guy myself. For example, the popup about the "Landsverk II" was very informative to me, in terms ...

Re: Continuation War 1941 Beta Test
I'll remember to remove the "coastal" when I get to editing Bengtskar. I assume "jaeger" is alright without the "coastal," correct? Well, they were not jaegers either to be precise, but why not let them stay as coastal jaegers? Imo there is no need to be too strict with details and coastal jaegers ...

Re: Continuation War 1941 Beta Test
Shhh. Well, the cat's out of the bag, now! (The truth is, I did think these guys were Finns.) Now that this flub has been revealed, it will be swapped out. Got any interesting alternative photos for triumphant coastal jaegers? (Yes, I prefer that spelling - I saw it spelled more frequently as "jaeg...

Re: Continuation War 1941 Beta Test
Hanko (several places) should probably be spelled Hankö (at least that is what we mountain-apes call it). 'jaegars' could probably be 'Jägers', similar to the German spelling. Nope, the correct spelling is indeed Hanko. Is it really Hankö in Norwegian? I ask because Hangö is the Swedish spe...

Re: BrucErik CSD Studio
Yes, I was dimly aware of the cross on tanks but German planes, too? My perceptions of reality have been distorted by OOB. Yep, those too, though there is often a swastika in the vertical stabilizer. Regarding images there are indeed so many floating around, but the trick is to find the right ones....

Re: Continuation War 1941 Beta Test
That second fellow from the right in the foreground, carrying his rifle so casually, makes me smile. Not that these soldiers were marching in formation, but this guy looks unusually relaxed and carefree. I hope he made it through the wars in good shape. Hope he did indeed. :) An excellent choice fo...

Re: BrucErik CSD Studio
Portrait-oriented photos are generally not good because they have to be shrunk down to 415 vertically which usually makes them look too small and require black bands to be inserted in the sides. I make exceptions here and there where the results don't look too bad. Yes, those certainly give you som...

Re: Continuation War 1941 Beta Test
I'm blushing because of all that praise for such a small contribution  but thanks, Bru. :) I hope someday Slitherine/Artistocrats do the same for OoB that was done to Strategic Command -> publish an official Community Pack. Headed by the high quality products of BrucErik CSD Studio of course. :D

Re: BrucErik CSD Studio
Heh, I guess anyone would stutter if you lose too many of those precious vehicles. Perhaps the Lagus Detachment was never anywhere near Karhumäki. Let the grognards dig up that information (I did try searching for it but failed) and complain. :) Actually it was and had an important role in the opera...

The Finnish Navy would have been very happy with that gunboat.

Re: BrucErik CSD Studio
There is your Ankkuripaikka: Oh no, don't do it like that. Ankkuripaikka is just a general noun, not a name for certain location. You should either change the text to sthg like 'in a secluded cove we have prepared a surprise for the Finns etc." or if you like I could make up a village name. Hmm.., ...
